Had the pleasure of staying here for the weekend. A very friendly and welcoming area. The bathrooms and showers were well maintained and very clean. I had inquired about an extended check-out time and they met my needs and more! A lot to do nearby, overall a great camping experience. Definitely happy to have stayed here and will absolutely be back!
Small campground along Rt7 in Shelburne VT. The management was friendly and helpful. The sites were small and close together. It was a wet day and the sites were pretty swampy. Bathrooms were clean and the showers hot. The laundry room has one old dryer and one old washer. The roads were very rutty. There are about as many full timers as “campers”. I don’t think we would stay here again.
The rates are very reasonable, but the sites are also a bit on the smaller side. However, they have a pool and Laundry/Bath house on site which make an extended stay more comfy. Plus, it's so convenient being minutes away from almost any type of store or restaurant you may need. The site map and directions given by office staff were very clear and both sites I stayed on were nicely leveled, no monkeying around with blocks or Jack's which was nice. There is a dump station, I believe they charge a small fee for. And they offer cable TV and WiFi. Nice little place.
Great in town camping area. Spacious sites. The gravel road was being regraded when we visited, so it was a little muddy. The restrooms and showers could have been cleaner. I appreciated the staff members in the office wearing masks. No designated dog area that I could find. WiFi was lackluster.
Super accommodating and cordial staff. Web site is great even for same day needs! I’ve available 24/7. Bathrooms were very clean and everything worked as expected. Sites all seemed to have some privacy screening. Just a bit of highway noise, nothing to keep you awake though, and not at all in control of that! Proximity to all the area has to offer far outweighs the little bit of noise that there was. Fellow campers there very respectful too! All around awesome!
Some of these negative reviews are ridiculous. It's rustic and real, FAR from "run down". Makes me feel like a kid at summer camp again. I've spent a lot of time here full time RVer and the staff has always been polite, helpful, and knowledgeable if I had an issue with the camper. It's more than just business to them. One thing I LOVE is that they keep trees between sites which allows for a little privacy and helps avoid others setting up their stuff on your site which has happened to me at other places. I've only had good experiences with other campers as well. Also, FREE INTERNET! Sometimes it's hard to do laundry but there's a clean laundromat about a mile away that's near shops, you can do your grocery shopping and get things from the hardware store while the laundry is going.
I absolutely adore this campground. It truly feels like home away from home - safe, clean, quiet. It's not for everyone - none of those "luxuries" like some of the rv parks/campgrounds I've been to, but everything I need. Chris and Dan have been very pleasant and helpful when needed. There's another gentleman that works the grounds that greets me with a nice "hello, how's it going?" I'm perfectly content during my extended stays here. Shelburne Campground is definitely my 1st choice in Chittenden County.
A great family-owned and operated camping area. Nice big, quiet and private sites that are easy to navigate. Dump station and propane on site and lots of friendly help from the Bissonettes and crew. Minutes to Burlington and Stowe. No-brainer.
The website for this business is deceptive and highly inaccurate. This is not a “truly modern” campground. The internet was intermittent at best. There is one pool, not two. The sites are nowhere close to “spacious.” The fire ring was a 10” trailer wheel whose size did match the 5 foot picnic table and couldn’t even fit small logs. The presentation of this business as somehow affiliated with Shelburne Farms is disingenuous and deceptive. The location of the site adjacent to a poorly maintained motel only a few hundred yards off a major roadway is not mentioned and was not conducive to “relaxation and peacefulness .”
Such a great place to stay during my visit! Quiet and secluded yet so close to Burlington! The owners are very helpful/accommodating. Clean bathrooms, nice grounds, lots of trees and walking paths. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely stay there again when I’m back in Vermont!
