Niquette Bay State Park

This was a really fun park and maybe my favorite of all the Vermont parks. The water was nice for swimming. The trails were fun. And best of all, it was ok for me to bike on the trail down towards the lake! I will definitely be returning next year when the water warms up:

Fantastic park with lovely views. We walked the poetry trail which was a real pleasure. I would advise bringing swimsuits for the water and bug spray if you plan on walking after 4 pm. All in all it was a great park with well kept trails comparable to the Red Rocks!

Beautiful park lots of nice hikes and walks... A bit rocky and rooty... Also the dog beach is good but hard to access as the climb down you need to be sure footed and sorta brave

It's nice for hiking. Wasn't too impressed with the beach or pet beach, have yet to jump from the cliffs, I may love it if I ever get the pleasure. There were a decent amount of people all over the place. Lots of roots and loose rocks in some areas but I REALLY enjoyed my hikes.

It's got great paths to hike. I also enjoyed the poetry walk.

Enjoyed the medium level hikes at this location. Beautiful to sit at the beach.

We bring our dogs to the calm cove for swimming! They had a great time! It's a very enjoyable hike for humans too, shaded and well maintained.

Beautiful park with lots of diverse terrain. Trails vary from flat and clear to steeper and rocky. Nothing too intense, nice hills and gullies. Beautiful cliffs to swim from and access to the beach no dogs on beaches, but welcome on trails on leash. The views of the lake are not spectacular, but you can get some nice glimpses. Good for a short 30 minute walk or spending half a day exploring. Great place. Small admission charge at the gate as it's a State Park - $4, I think. Ample parking.

This quickly accessible year round day use park is a great choice for hikers. Located just about 30 minutes from the VT big city, it offers lots of space and trails to get out for some fresh clean covid free air! The network of trails offer varying degrees of difficulty and lengths. Dogs are welcome and should be leashed. They can even swim at Calm Cove! There is another smaller beach with water access, but it is a bit marshy. The Bypass trail is a neat walk along vertical wooden stairs with some peekaboo views of the lake, leading to Calm Cove. The cove has a little space on the rocks and beach to enjoy the quiet view and eat a snack. Please socially distance. Be safe and wear the damn mask.

Pretty solid mix of easy to moderate trails, connecting beaches, lookouts on Malletts Bay’s inner and outer bays, a dog swimming area, etc. Some of the steeper sections provide for a good workout and descending those same sections is a bit more challenging on packed snowy/icy trails in the winter. Close to town - 89 or route 7, and a good year round option for a relatively quick hike or afternoon if you want to hit all of the trails. Usually pretty low traffic, too, if your looking for peace and quiet.
