Not the greatest place. I had a pool of oil sitting at the bottom and the chicken was half-cooked. The taste is nothing of a shawarma. The garlic sauce was there but could barely even taste it. They need to improve on their flavours and somehow decrease the amount of oil they use. I would not go back here. I don’t understand why they need to cook the meat twice - once where it is on the spinner and the second on the grill. Even then it wasn’t fully cooked.
Hardest working owners and they make their food with love. You can 100% taste the difference and they can sense your hunger level. I came in hangry, there was a bit of line up and they had only person running the show in an extremely unbearably hot kitchen. The employee wasnt phased one bit, in the middle of all that not a single drop of sweat. Calm, cool and in control he went through the line of people in an orderly manner. When it was my turn, my hunger had reached its peak.. he added the chicken to the shawarma plate I had order and then stopped looked at me and then a miracle happened.. he went and added another massive scoop of chicken. Its like he read my mind in the midst of all that chaos. I happily tipped him a generous amount and can say that was a top 3 experience in my plentiful fast food experiences. From the quality of the food to the care for the client. Go early because they do tend to sell out of chicken sometimes.
I live down the street and have been looking for a regular place to get my shawarma fix. But this place SUCKS I’ve given it multiple chances... First time I came in last summer it was great but I’ve been back 4/5 times and everytime its hot as all hell inside which would be fine if the wait wasn’t so long ! It’s a always different person and they almost never know what they’re doing. Foods good and prices are fair but the service and wait times will have you probably leaving displeased... just leaving here now and the girl mass made 4 chicken shawarmas without asking what I want on it and me and the gentlemen before me were just nice enough to pay and not have her redo them because IT WAS SO HOT WE WANTED OUT! I did mention I don’t like the cabbage in it and she responded it’s big enough to pick out...
Living most of my life in the Middle East, I know a genuine shawarma when I taste one. The meat/salad ratio is off. This is salad in a bread with a lot less than expected protein. I noticed some of the previously cut meat is recooked, drying it out and resulting in a stale, almost tasteless sandwich. Nonetheless, the staff were friendly.
Came in on a hot day, and this place was hotter than it was on the outside! We ordered a chicken shawarma plate, and it was very filling. The rice was a bit dry, but the chicken was very juicy! The two of us shared a plate before we headed to a concert, and it filled both of us up. The prices are $1-$2 more expensive than in the Downtown core, but considering that it's by Harbourfront, it's reasonably priced. Service was quick, even with six people ahead of me. There are a few tables and chairs outside.
I just bought a Chicken plate from here. One of the worst decisions of my life. Midway through ordering the guy tells me that their shipment didn't arrive, so I had basically no choice of anything. Nonetheless, I paid an astounding $15 something for raw cabbage, old meat and some rice. Probably the worst Shawarma I've ever had.
Ordered a Beef Shawarma Plate using UBER EATS. Took 45 minutes to deliver even though the App said 15-30 min delivery estimate. Sent the wrong order Shawarma Wrap instead of plate. The nice driver went back to the store to exchange my order. 20 minutes I don't hear back and I call the driver who hands the phone over to the owner who argues I ordered a wrap not a plate. I asked him to check how much I was charged and finally after looking at what I paid over $20 he admitted he got the order wrong. Received my correct order in over an hour's wait. This is only getting 2 stars because the owner sent the correct order in the end. Food quality is the worst. Go check out Ibrahims at Lawrence and Pharmacy you won't be dissapointed best Shawarma in Tdot.
This place has changed ownership a couple months ago. I've been here a few times after the ownership change, and I'll have to say the place is a lot worse now. The customer service is poor and like the previous reviewer I also experienced a "missed shipment" resulting in the worst shawarma of my life with only cabbage and old meat for full price.
Don't even bother. This is not a shawarma place. The chicken was barely marinated, with no taste. Vegetable were soggy and not fresh. Worst part was making the thing. The guy had no idea how to make a shawarma. Uneven balance of ingredients, and he just wrapped it in a pita as opposed to properly inserting the ingredients IN the bread, he just rolled the bread around. Smh. The result? A soggy, leaking disaster. Also, horrible customer, random people running in and out of the kitchen, very unhygenic. Waste of 6.50 + tax. Pathetic
Served improperly cooked rice on ordering shawarma plate, one guy had stomach ache after consuming little amount of that rice. Requested staff to provide freshly prepared plate but he refused. Dumped the whole food because it was not edible Horrible experience !
