I’ve been going here for about 15 years. All the doctors and staff at Station 1 have always been phenomenal. I had the best family doctor for the longest time but unfortunately she decided to move on in her career. However, my new family doctor, the locums, and any doctor I see in lieu of my family doc have all been great. Everyone goes the extra mile despite being stretched thin. For example, the last doctor who I had a phone appointment scheduled with, called me twice during our one hour intended window but I was tied up with work. However she tried me again a third time, well past the window, to make sure she got through to me, and was super cheerful, not mad that I hadn’t picked up earlier. The doctors really listen and communicate well, and will even address multiple issues if you keep it snappy. The ladies at the front desk always follow up when promised and are total professionals at their job. Thank you everyone for so many years of dedicated service, keeping me and our community healthy.
I'd gone to the attached Seymour Dermatology clinic. Dr. Jamie Philips was very thorough, patient, and kind. He was proactive about a follow-up appointment, and took great care and finished the priority procedures. He was candid about costs for further issues, and what was covered and not covered. Very timely appointment within 1 and a half month - highly recommend as a dermatologist!!
I’ve asked if my prescription could be sent to my pharmacy multiple times and confirmed which place it should be available at and it’s been days and my pharmacy still has not received any communication from here despite my appointment for the prescription change being made weeks ago. I’ve also had times where I had booked appointments over the phone and never received a phone call on either of my phones as well as times where my doctor has been on vacation during my booked appointments and was never told about it later was told that on both of these occassions, they did call and tell me everything, but I had no record of any phone calls. This clinic used to be really good, but now it feels like everyone is overbooked, rushes through everything and doesn’t take into consideration that some people’s medication is really important to them to have. I understand that it’s busy post pandemic and that it’s stressful for everyone involved, but I’ve been a patient for years and it’s ridiculous how difficult it’s gotten for me to even talk to my doctor let alone even get the right prescriptions sent to the right places. Update: after two days of trying to get it sent it finally got sent out today. Still not really happy with how difficult this has been.
Not accepting new patients for their walk-in clinic. You have to have been there before to walk in. I called the day prior but they closed an hour early at 5pm since they said they had enough patients to last until close 6pm. They told me to come at 8am the next day when they opened. Then when I arrived they wouldn’t accept me as a patient. Very disappointing. How are people supposed to get the care they need with this type of service. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Extremely grateful to have gotten an appointment with Dr. Anna Cooper on the same day. They are accepting returning walk-in patients which isn't ideal I was nervous about discussing psychiatric medications with a random GP who may not be knowledgable or really dismissive about my condition. But she was amazingly supportive, informed and talked through what I needed.
My prior doctor at Seymour Health Centre Dr. Surka who actually left medicine for a different profession as he said he likes to spend time with patients, listen to their needs, understand what is occurring in their lives, and understand them emotionally and psychologically. But he told me he is only paid for 20 min visits by BC medical. Additionally he said he left the clinic as the owners want doctors to see as many patients a day as possible to meet the MSP max for the day, while the needs of his patients were secondary. To just rush them through without being thorough and ensuring all their needs were met. He believes in mind/body connection which is well proven in the medical/psychology research. If a person isn't happy are depressed they are more likely to become ill. He was very empathetic, conscientious, kind, an active listener he always asked about details re: my life he knew and remembered. But the clinic owners also did not support him they wanted him to see as many patients as possible in a day so they could bill lots. Additionally I find the office culture to be dismal, inc. none of the receptionists were happy to see me or remembered my name as a regular patient they just seemed to want to get out of there. Rude too. I intentionally surround myself with folks who bring their own sunshine with them, try to see the positive in all aspects of life, choose a happy outlook as I do too. I wish to lift others up and seek health service providers who do the same this is your health seek the best who really meet your emotional, physical and psychological needs. The foot pediatrist Dr. Scott was respectful and kind, but other then providing orthotics he did not give me any suggestions as to lifestyle tips and exercises for my low arches. While Dr. Surka did and gave me a book title to look up, he truly did his job thoroughly.
I have been going to this walk in for years as I am unable to find a family doctor. It is now impossible to get into this clinic, and all other walk ins will only give me a two week emergency supply of my daily medication until I can get in here which, as I said, is impossible. I don't know what to do anymore. The walk-in procedures are unclear and not posted anywhere, constantly changing, and most receptionists are rude. I'm so upset.
Being a former employee LPN/MOA from the 1980s, I was excited to revisit my old employer when my Mother was referred to Dr. David Grant for a small procedure. From my first contact with Dr. Grants MOA, Claudia, to the follow up phone call from Dr. Grant...I was extremely happy with the professionalism and medical treatment my Mother recieved. The facility itself has change slightly but the staff were welcoming, appeared organized and Dr. Grant himself was wonderful, personable and professional. I and would highly recommend him for a Plastics referral.
Incredibly unethical company. I had been a patient there for over 20 years and they didn't even inform me that my Doctor no longer practiced. So I've been dumped and now have no Primary Care Physician. I'm about to have surgery and their suggestion for post surgical care us to show up as a walk-in patient and line up in the hope that I get ro ser a doctor. They blame the doctor crisis but they continur to rake in record private profits. Disgusting.
Why is this called a walk in clinic when you can’t walk in ? Both locations in Vancouver are understaffed, unorganized and have incapable staffing. How these people completed medical school when they can’t even organize a waiting room is beyond me. A policy where people waiting to check in have to stand outside, only to be forgotten by incompetent over worked reception staff. Making old sick women stand in the rain when there is free seating, just not numbered seating shows a distorted moral compass that scares me. These people are health care professionals ? Disaster
