There can be a lot of moving parts to getting a vehicle on the road, between a safety, insurance, appraisals, plates, fees, etc. The workers at Service Ontario do a great job of managing the stresses that customers often bring into their workplace. I know there are other reviews on here that describe being mistreated, yet I believe that can often be one sided.nnI had an experience at this DMV where this was a misunderstanding about how something was worded on a form. I am sure the workers are used to being verbally attacked when a customer does not get their way. I calmly shared what I felt the form meant, and they listened to me. They were nice enough to make a call to the Ontario Government and confirm that they could do what I was asking. I waited patiently while they made the call.nnEverything got resolved, and I accomplished what I had set out to do. The worst case scenario would have been that I would have had to go back to a place to get another form. I think this is where frustration can often kick in for customers, when they come in expecting to get everything done in one trip, and something unexpected arises requiring them to do another step.nThe whole experience inspired me to write a little poem as a review, to remind people that the workers at Service Ontario have feelings too, and that they are doing their best to deal with long lineups that happen often.nHere is what I wrote:nnWhen at the DMVnGetting things in their placenIt’s important to remembernTo keep a smile on your facennTreating the workers with kindnessnAnd being patient while you’re supportednIs the best way to benAs many papers need to get sortednnAnd if by some chance when you’re therenThere is an extra step that requires you tonCome back on another daynUse this poem as your cuennTo take a deep breathnInstead of getting frustratednWelcome the process that’s needednWhen it’s done, you’ll feel elatednnThrough mutual respect at the counternAnd treating each other with carenYou can get done what you neednIn a way that feels loving and fair
I am disappointed with the service I received at this location. While I cannot speak for other staff members, my experience with one particular employee was frustrating. Her approach and tone made me feel as though I was being blamed for issues beyond my understanding, which came across as dismissive and unprofessional.nnIt’s essential for staff to have a thorough understanding of the services they provide and to communicate with patience and respect. Customers come here seeking assistance and clarity, not criticism, so it’s reasonable to expect professionalism and clear guidance.nnThat said, if you prioritize fast service over quality, this location might suit your needs as it doesn’t seem to be very busy. However, for those expecting basic support and respect, there is definitely room for improvement.nnWhile I’ve noticed other reviews that might reference the same employee, I will refrain from describing anyone specifically out of respect. I hope this feedback helps foster a better and more respectful experience for all customers in the future.
Service is always fast and efficient. However, this particular South Asian lady was very unprofessional and racist, she told this East Asian lady infront me to “open her eyes”. On top of that, she was very unprofessional, throwing my health card and other documents at me. I would recommend people to get serviced by the younger lady in glasses and another elderly white lady, both seem patience and welcoming. Hopefully if this service Ontario will different employees to replace this racist lady.
My experience with the staff was disappointing; they seemed unwilling to help, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. It felt like they were more focused on making money than assisting people. In contrast, another Service Ontario office had helpful staff who genuinely tried to assist.
I read the reviews of this Service Ontario location before heading to get my driver’s license and health card renewed. The reviews were mostly negative so I was prepared for a long wait and/or poor service. When I arrived at the location, there were 5 people already being served plus 6 people ahead of me waiting in line. The service representatives were very efficient and polite with the clients. The lady who served me was very patient and kind to me. My renewals were done within 15 minutes from the time I arrived at the location. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
