Great experience at this BC service centre Port Alberni. Went to get my ID renewed. I was in and out under 10 minutes. Excellent team
I have always found everybody very helpful and friendly here! I did my N test twice... failed once not without good reason and found the examiner extremely encouraging well I had a good cry. Passed the second one and recently got my full license here. The examiner went out of her way to help me feel comfortable and calm while doing my test. If you are someone who gets nervous about these kinds of things I highly recommend doing your drivers test here!
Understaffed, limited in what they can do without having to “call Victoria”. There is no “quick visit” here. Plan to stay for a couple hours even for what you would think would be a simple routine task.

Awesome experience. The staff here is really friendly and helpful. Book the appointment if you don't want to wait in line. For me, it was quick and easy.
Patiently waited outside on a busy day. After a while asked the security guard if he could give me an estimation on how long the wait may be once inside when the place is at full capacity. I made it clear that I knew this was a difficult question to answer. Instead of simply letting me know that he could not give me a guess on the wait time, the security guard belittled me and made me out to be stupid in front of the rest of the line up of patrons. I left and won’t return.
Never answer the phone, you can tell they are ignoring you too and I’ve seen it before when I was in the centre plenty of people to answer calls but they sit at their desk and push the hold button lol.
They will usually fail you multiple times even if you drive perfectly, depending on the whim of the examiner. It's a common problem as I know of many professional drivers being failed for the absolute smallest of issues, or for nothing at all. You cannot question the penalty points given by the examiner beyond a small condescending explanation, and they won't allow you to record the session or the road as proof of proficiency either. Just a cash grab to keep you coming in.
Drivers instructor was very rude and was providing false information about what is legal to have in a vehicle and what is not legal to have in a vehicle. I agree with all the other reports that this is a cash grab. no one that I know has passed first try no matter how good their driving was. I do not recommend this place to anyone
