I just got the fried Bolonga sandwich and fries. It was very good. They just recently reopened, open for lunch which is awesome because we need more options for lunch on Madison. Anyways the people are all very nice. I got to try a Burger next !!!
For those who don't love beef burgers this place had dinner options and so it got a 4. I would say the beef burger was a 3.5. Service and atmosphere were fine. A musician came in just as well were leaving soon that could have been interesting...Food: 4/5
Worst dining experience I've ever had. I wish to give zero stars if I could. This establishment has two locations and a week ago we ordered from the Lake St. location, we got exactly what we ordered, the exact way we ordered it in the phone app. no issues, great food. Yesterday we thought we would try their location on Madison St. as we only live blocks away. We came in sat down and was basically ignored at first. Finally we were given menus. While perusing the menu I am also enjoying a conversation with the person I came in with to the point that when asked if we were ready to order, we were not so the wait staff attended to setting up the open mic for their Saturday night crowd. It was at this point we became totally ignored and dismissed until we had to tell them we were finally ready to order. The wait staff then informed us it was time for a shift change, that only meant that now there was more then one person to ignore us at a time, because setting up the microphone is much more important then waiting on customers. When they were finally ready to take our order the first waiter that informed us of shift change was still waiting on us and taking our order down on a napkin while the wait staff that was supposed to be taking our order was still busy setting up the microphone. It seems Saturday open mic night is a big thing with the staff at this establishment because that was their priority and not the customers. Two black women got up and left before they even ordered when they saw what was going on, we should have taken their lead and left with them. While ordering I was informed that the cook could not make my hamburger medium rare and that it was a law that prevented them from cooking a medium rare beefburger in Forest Park. I had ordered the exact same burger a week ago from their other location and it was one of the best burgers ever had, which is why I ordered it again. What I got was a hockey puck burnt beyond recognition because they can only cook meat medium medium or medium well. Absolutely terrible. My partner ordered pulled pork tacos, what she got was stinky old rotten pork over a bed of nachos with cheese and the called it a deconstructed taco... How cheep and misleading. I will never and I mean never go to their Madison St. location ever again.
Great place! Outstanding food! Thank you Zak! I let the chef pick my dinner and omg what a great food experience! Good drinks and live music, this place should be packed every weekend! Thanks again for the great service and experience!Food: 5/5
It's good to have Scratch back on Madison! That said, PLEASE, bring back the Beyond Burger or Impossible Burger! My server was attentive & I felt bad that she had to hear my disappointment in the lack of Burger choices. There are vegetarians in Forest Park too!Food: 2/5
Not bad. Had the Fish tacos special and the mango salsa was made of non-ripe mangoes. The fish in the tacos was just little nuggets and were overcooked; it was really more like deep-fried breading. My lunch companion had fish and chips though which were great.
If you're near Oak Park looking for a local spot for good burgers and beer this is your place. Our group of three had the chorizo fries, hamburger, chicken sandwich and salad... the burger and fries were the favs of course. Would love to try the other types of starters though next time. Fries were plentiful for all three too! Service was great, and it was a nice day outside so with their doors open and fans on, it was a welcoming chill and comfortable ambience. My hubby said their soundtrack was killer, and said they won him over completely played deftones to classic rock to country.
The waitress molly was very nice and took care of everything needed. Our food came at a nice time and everything tasted delicious. I would go again just for the mac and cheese.
I don’t live near Chicago anymore so whenever I get a chance to go there I always get the Greek to Me lamb burger. So melt in your mouth delicious. And the fries -smothered or not are so yummy. They are definitely Chicago fries - fresh real flavorful a little greasy potatoes. Took mac n cheese to go for dinner - I swear it weighed 5 lbs! We can always find a “new.to.us” beer there, good suggestions from server/bartender. ALWAYS great service. BTW the entry is wheelchair accessible.
Amazing food. Great staff. Love the vibe.
