I enjoyed a splendid meal at Scarolies Pasta Emporium.nMy waiter, George Z was outstanding and delivered exceptional service to my table. He possessed extensive knowledge of the menu to provide expert suggestions, I was very surprised to discover he was only in his third week of employment here! I really thought he owned the place by the confident way he carried himself. It’s very clear that he is a natural or likely has extensive experience in the restaurant industry.nI requested the Minestrone soup that tasted homemade and fresh, The grilled veggies offered a wide selection. The Mediterranean salad was the finest I have ever tasted. I really enjoyed the big pieces of Feta cheese, and the dressing had a very rich authentic flavour.nI also chose the salmon, which is another excellent option.nEach of the serving sizes were very generous, and after my satisfying meal, I had lots leftover to takeout for a full dinner later.nI found the Italian-inspired decor very charming, featuring Tuscany scenery, rustic bricks, Hanging Greenery vines, big pillars, water fountains and the ceilings are painted like blue skies and cloud’s. The aesthetic was marvelously designed and I felt quite comfortable in this warm and welcoming ambiance.nI will certainly come back and ask for George Z to serve as our Gentleman waiter again because he was highly entertaining with his charismatic personality. He was a memorable highlight in my 5 star dining experience.
Friday night dinner for three was really good. Our server, Natasha, was fast and very generous with the cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The cocktails and martinis on the menu are all worth trying! The chocolate cake for dessert was rich, moist and decadent.
Typical Italian family restaurantnI was immediately charmed with the warm feeling and on a Tuesday night, the place was PACKED!nnSadly, from beginning to end, my waiter, George, has been looking down on me with contempt despite my best efforts to be nice and convivial.nnHis attitude was Very disinterested, nonchalant even. He gave me a very Snooty service, although I could see he was giving an awesome service to the 3 Italian kids at the next table.nnI ordered a bottle of Fontanafredda, 65$, tried to engage in a friendly conversation, as I am actually keeping a bunch of 2015’s in my cellar to age…. Barely showed any interest.nnNonetheless, the Polpettes were very tender and the sauce very tasty.nnI ordered the Veal Marsala with spaghetti Alio y olio.nThe veal was very tender but so underseadoned.nnThe pasta, tragically was tasteless. Just an oily, overcooked, under seasoned mess, no salt, no pepperoncino, not even the slightest taste of garlic half of the name of the pasta…, no parsley…. I barely touched it, I would have expected the waiter to notice but he didn’t even ask.nnI came here on a friend’s warm recommendation, and I can see by the other comments that the service can make all the difference. Should my waiter have been more attentive, or given me a non scrupulous service, I am sure the kitchen would have fixed the issues.nnI am leaving with my unfinished bottle and a take-out dessert that was almost thrown at me, with a feeling of disdain, a feeling that I actually wasn’t welcome in the place. Caucasian male, 45, solo traveller, not smelly or out of bounds, clean clothesnnOther than that, the price was extremely fair for what I had. The issues could have been minor if it hadn’t been for the contempt of George.
Edit: The owner swiftly took care of every single issue. I found it odd that a restaurant that uses top quality ingredients would have certain deficiencies. If I were to choose a restaurant that guarantees satisfaction, this would be my TOP choice. The owner Alex stands by his reputation. If you, as a customer have a problem with the food or service, simply tell the waitress or waiter if they forget to ask.nnOur table all had very beautiful presentations, and most people had enough leftovers for a second supper. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. Surprisingly, I had some issues that shouldn't have been ignored. The minestrone soup was very bland, and the zucchini entrée was not evenly sliced leaving some pieces undercooked. My Italian salad had the lettuce I love, sadly I didn't order dressing on the side. It was soaked a bit too much. The worst part was the shaved carrots were MUSTY and my mostly untouched salad was cleared by the waitress without even asking why I gave up on it so soon. My shrimp pasta was another disappointment. It tasted fine, but there was so much rich heavy creamy sauce it was sickening after half the plate. I did note that other tables were eating up their mooshy pasta plates quite happily.nThe high points are the incredible croutons and above average tasting water maybe its filtered If it wasnt for the musty carrots I may have actually enjoyed this place a bit more.
Great restaurant, delicious food, great portions, also giving you hot fresh bread. Friendly staff, it really feels authentic. Came here several times and will be coming back !
