south end of the red line, there's a tim hortons and wendys within 1 minute's walk, and all the other shops in the shawnessy area in a 5-10 minute walk. land use around the station is pretty mid, although its significantly better than other ctrain stations like anderson which have endless seas of surface parking and nothing to do within walking distance. the area around this station is not that great when it comes to pedestrian safety and quality of infrastructure. would be nice if there were bike lanes and wider sidewalks and shorter crossings. visually unappealing being surrounded by surface parking lots, and it gets uncomfortably hot in the summers due to the sheer amount of asphalt with so few green spaces or trees. there's a religious christian secondary school across the street, and during the day in typical break hours the street is filled with loud, pushy, and intimidating teenagers. the train station has a heated shelter on the platform and off the platform which is great for the extremely cold winter climate. the city is severely neglecting the pedestrian areas and sidewalks in terms of snow/ice cleaning. its extremely slippery and i almost fell several times and needed to walk very slowly. it would be nice if there was more seating in the bus waiting area. and the bus routes that feed into this station 75, 14, etc come every 20-30 minutes, it would be great if it could be more frequent. the demand is clearly there, the buses are always extremely packed full of people. we need more frequency or for the city to use the articulated buses for the 75.nnhopefully it can be extended soon. would be nice if there were radial lines for better suburb-to-suburb transportation. and the parking near the bus and train station should be turned into commercial and housing, making the environment more inviting and pleasant. a parking garage holds way more cars and isnt extremely ugly and inefficient. and in general, i hope shawnessy as a whole will eventually get a massively needed upgrade to the pedestrian experience
Overrun with high school students who don't understand how to board a bus without pushing and shoving others out of the way. I'm thankful I only need to ride the bus about twice a year.
Looks like they put the most unqualified and newest drivers in the 167 route.nOn driver had to slam on the brakes to avoid running a 4 way Stop SignnThanks for the Whiplash
Only busy during rush hour. Near all the stores and restaurants. Busier During school year.
cannot seem to pay cash at the ticket dispensers north of platform...should check the others i guess.
