Saugeen Riverbank Campground has been my first experience with seasonal camping and it has been fantastic. The 6 months of seasonal camping, at a very affordable rate, has been a blessing for my kids and family. We now have an annual family reunion weekend, in June, and the whole family loves it (tubing is a hit, as is day away trips to places like Port Elgin, Southampton etc..).

Fantastic mini vacation! Stayed at this beautiful and impeccably clean campground for a few nights. Have a healing back injury and was worried about tenting and air mattresses so rented a trailer right from the park, how convenient! Arrived to a very clean and well maintained site, with a beautiful view of the river! The trailer with mini bathroom and kitchen was well kept, nicely set up on arrival with windows open to air and the mini fridge already cooled for us.
Like all (nice) campgrounds, the park has rules, all of which were reasonable and pretty standard and expected in family campgrounds. We took advantage of the convientient tube rentals and shuttle service for a fun and relaxing day on the river. The friendly owners were very knowledgeable and helpful, and even stopped by our site to check on our stay! That's real service you don't find anymore. They even lent us a grill at no charge to place and cook over our fire!
Have stayed at many campgrounds over the years and would definitely recommend this one for a quiet and relaxing trip. We look forward to a return visit next season!!

2.5/5 in my opinion.
~Grounds are gorgeous
~One clean flush toilet (one mens' and one womens') about 5-7 minute walk from the riverbank sites. The flush toilet half-way in between was very unclean the first (and only) time I checked it.
~The port-a-potty (closest potty to our riverbank site) was gross and got worse over the three nights we were there (hubby started off going in there as it was close to our site, but ended up making the trek to the clean toilet by the third day)....SO....
~With three women, we decided to make the trip easier by renting a golf cart (for $40/day) which could not be operated after dark...which we were told after we paid and somewhat defeated its purpose.
~Showers were coin operated, and we were not told in advance which meant another trip back to our site for quarters.
Nice park, but a money-grab....in my opinion. I would not recommend this park to my friends for that reason!

Sonia and Mike were warm and welcoming. We loved our vacation there. Peaceful nature right on the river. Swimming and beach meant driving 45 mins but we still loved our camping trip. Washrooms are very clean. Bummer paying quarters to shower and guests should be given a heads up to bring lots of quarters as shower time is 1 min for 1 quarter. With a family showering can get really expensive.
Loved the golf cart rentals as walking is a challenge for me.
There was a fire ban on due to dry weather but Sonia and Mike were kind and patient when putting out our fires at 11pm as instructed by fire regulations.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
