Story

Santorini Grill resides in Thornhill at Bayview and John, in the property formally known as Thornlea. The home was built by local farmer John Welsh in 1858. The farm was later bought by Charles Luther Burton, president of Robert Simpson LTD. It served as a summer home for Mr. Burton, his wife and five children.

Since 1995, 150 years later Dennis Triantafillos has transformed this 19th century summer home into a Mediterranean gem. Santorini is a popular upscale restaurant with an inviting atmosphere and plenty of room for hosting your special event.

The cuisine is inspired by the Mediterranean with a focus on authentic Greek dishes. From the traditional homemade family recipe bread served fresh out of the oven, to the savoury "meze" and the mouth watering entrees.

Every time I crave Greek food, this is the place I come to. Easily the best Greek restaurant in Uptown. The veteran servers always provide top-notch service. The freshly baked warm bread still lingers in my mouth with its amazing flavor. I always order the juicy chicken here — if I could eat more, I would definitely order extra. Truly the best Greek restaurant around.nTheir homemade hummus is highly recommended — definitely one of the best I’ve ever had.

The service was fantastic, the staff were extremely nice, funny and knowledgeable - our server gave great recommendations and we were not disappointed.nThe food here, wow! phenomenal! Everything we had was done to its own perfection. Our table ordered the specials of the day, as well as grilled calamari, beet salad, and seafood pasta and everything was just so Good!!nThe entire restaurant is beautifully decorated- airy and bright, it's fairly large and it was packed, of course, but it felt like we were miles away from the next table. Loved!!
the starters grilled calamari and the white wine mussels are a must try. the bread was soft and the hummus was too garlicky. the main turned out average, lamb and the pork were a bit dry; chicken was a surprise very juicy, service was very attentive. the music too loud. sure will return try other dishes but not the lamb
Gorgeous restaurant. Good food. Excellent service. Great experience. Must go for Greek food. Nice collection of wines. Our server was Basilis. He was awesome. The manager Eftihia took care of us. Good seating. It was a fantastic experience!!! Will certainly go there again.
I came here on the weekend with a group of 13-14 people for a surprise 40th birthday. The prices are a little pricey but reflected the quality of the food. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. They give complimentary bread and garlic spread/butter that was so tasteful that I filled up on it before my meal came. If you like calamari... definitely try it here. The dishes here are good for sharing.
