I'm being generous because the waitress was friendly and polite but the food is terrible. The melon is a perfect representation of how everything tastes. We ordered a hot chocolate and asked whether the whipped cream was real and were told it was. It's not - it's fake plastic tasting stuff. Want maple syrup with your waffles? Nope. They only have table syrup. The coffee is the colour of coffee but I can't even pin down what the taste is. The ambience is nice. It the food is so bad the it feels like you're being conned.

Worst experience ever!!! Arrived to a (not so busy) restaurant and were seated right away by the manager/owner (Nathan)....Omar (a great young waiter) brought us menus and then returned 30 minutes later (!!!) to take oiur order where he told us that we would have to wait about 30 minutes for our food because they were short staffed. an hour later we still hadn't received our food. The people on either side of us had also been waiting over an hour for their orders. I went to Nathan and said that if we didn't have our food in 5 minutes we would be leaving. The food came 10 minutes later (3 out of 4 meals) but mine took an extra 10 minutes. We ate our meals (orders were not correct but tasty) and I called Nathan over to complain about the service and asked him for some compensation. He told me that he now had to pay his staff $14/hr. (not my problem) and that his franchise cost him $1.2 million dollars (why did I need to know that?), and that he wasn't going to discount the bill. I'm not a restaurant complainer. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I've ever complained about this type of situation. This was the first (and last) time going to a Symposium restaurant. I will be telling my (wide circle) of friends about our experience ...

We arrived at 1:20 PM today. We were taking my dear mother out for lunch (she's 95). It was Sunday afternoon and it was busy because every seat was in use. Soon after arriving my wife began murmuring under her breath for us to leave as the wait might be too long. On the other side of the coin, I felt like being a little more patient as I recognized a few things that would make me feel comfortable there. There were paintings on the ceiling and the seats looked very comfortable to sit in. The atmosphere said to me "be comfortable". Time passed fairly quickly and we were put in a booth with plenty of room. It always felt spacious right from the start and that never changed. After we ate, mom, my wife and I all agreed that our food orders were cooked perfectly and presented to us with perfection. Also, we were totally satisfied with what we ordered. Personally, I had the eggs benedict. I've never had better. Plus I want to come back and try a different variation of this the next time we are there. The price of our meals was very reasonable. Our server was excellent. He was a young handsome man named Omar. He made us feel comfortable and instantly we felt quite at home. Omar was always there when we needed him. I had a question about the different condiments that they serve. Without asking Omar presented some samples for us to taste. It was a nice touch and I'll remember Omar for that. When I am that satisfied I will always look for the manager to tell them about the experience. His name was Nathan and he was the owner. I wasn't surprised to hear the success story that he was experiencing at this time. He said the previous owners were not doing things properly to retain customers. Through his management of the restaurant and the great efforts of his wonderful staff, that things have changed now. I don't know what the difference might be as this was my first time at the Symposium. Knowing that makes me want to suggest to you that if you have been here before in 2016 and before and were not satisfied then, then why not give them another try now? The bottom line is that we were satisfied customers.

Too many items on the menu and prices way too high. ▪sandwiches have too many red onions as filler & they thick. So many it should be named "Onion Sandwich" ▪Skimpy portion of french fries accompany meals ▪Boiling water not used for tea plus teapot should have a lid. ▪$35 New Years Eve Dinner but cheap cheap they do not provide guests with noise makers, hats, horns etc. I do not recommend this restaurant.

This place is incredible! It's a perfect little hub in the area to come in for a delicious meal with friends and family, or a coffee/tea and dessert just by myself as I get some work done on my laptop. They have a full menu with lots of great meal options and they are also very accommodating when it comes to dietary restrictions (which I have). I had the pleasure of being served by one of their exceptionally friendly waiters/bartenders, Jeff. He's a very accommodating staff member who goes all out to ensure the best of service. Thank you Jeff!
