Beautiful campground and friendly people. I went camping for August long weekend and had a blast. We were able to fit 2 large tents and a camper trailer all on one site with there still being room to play lawn games and such. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Being at this campground was a very great experience, we got to climb the Sandhills, watch the water and sunsets from high above the water and we also got to feed and pet the elks they have as well as the goats and with a windmill farm being right next store is just amazing! The water was beautiful! I recommend this camp to everyone. The only problems with this camp is there is no lights in the bathrooms. I'm not quite sure why all these people have such bad reviews but I guess people like to talk more about the bad things rather than the good :)

The sand dune is beautiful, but was a long walk up a hill to get back from the beach. The campsites are large. There are no lights in the bathrooms, so bring a torch/flashlight. The showers are a disappointment. There are only four, far too few for how large of camp, and they cost $1/about five minutes. The camp store is small, the kids enjoyed the slush drinks, but they are expensive for the size.
Overall if the employees had been more friendly/helpful, they would have gotten a higher review. We asked two different employees about rides to and from the beach, but were given incorrect information. I received a lecture for driving 12km/hour instead of 10km/hour, this situation could have been handled more professionally. (Yes I was going too fast, so maybe I did deserve to be yelled at and belittled.)
The shower situation is unacceptable.

Beautiful scenery. The price point is high for the amenities offered. With a little investment into their facilities and power to camp sites they may be able to warrant the price they charge. Until this time there is better value elsewhere for the price.

Very disappointed in the management. We have visited the park every year for the past 17 years on the May 24 weekend. It is our yearly tradition camping every year on exactly the same site. We bring with us a number of other campers and day pass visitors during the weekend - essentially a great amount of business. We have weathered the electrical issues and the bathrooms with no lights and the many cost increases over the years only to conclude that it still a nice place to visit. This year an issue came up which that got me a little upset - well maybe more than a little. Having spoken to part of the management team, who did say that the amount of business I bring every year without fail is appreciated - the team still failed to address my issue despite me actually saying the words "I am not happy". Whether I was right or wrong is immaterial - the fact that no one over the course of the weekend came forward to address my complaint is disheartening. I was genuinely disappointed. It has me rethinking our yearly tradition.

The bad: the flies here are terrible! Saying "there's a lot of flies" is a huge understatement! There's almost an infestation here! The washrooms. They're disgusting! ALL the sings I've used are clogged, and have no warm water. When I went to shower I was sort of happy to see they're paid showers, because that typically means they're well maintained. FAR FROM IT. They're filthy and of course, clogged. So you end up standing in cesspool of who knows what by the time you finish.
The 2nd star however, is for the park itself, as far as the nature and scenery is concerned. The dunes are awesome, and the beach (even though it's not highly rated by many) is great! The park definitely has a lot of potential, but is not maintained very well by the staff, and is rather pricey to stay here, so all in all, day visit maybe, but overnight stay: I'd advise going elsewhere.
