Samar Kabab House

I visited Samar Kabab House during my trip to Ottawa. It’s in a good location with free parking which is not usually the case with lots of restaurants in the area. The ambiance was pleasant but it was almost empty when we went there around 1pm. 2 other families that’s it. Tables were too high for one to eat comfortably. I think the place would benefit from new tables and more social media presence. The food took a long time to arrive about a 45 min wait. The server was very kind though and she made sure we were comfortable. The food itself was decent. I enjoyed the grilled chicken and kebabs the most. The salad was clearly made fresh and was clean. It lacked depth and seasoning but it was not bad. Average. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. The food was ok but the service was best. Need more kitchen staff to reduce food wait times and new tables !

A nice, spacious and cozy place to dine in! I liked their Kabobs, it was juicy and tender, not over spiced! Waiting time was good, the portion was generous and staff were friendly!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant with great and friendly service. The food was out of this world! Lots of room for families and large groups, very clean and spacious dining room. Highly recommend paying a visit.

If you want Afghan cuisine in Ottawa, this is it. Great staff, prompt service, presentable interior and best of all, very delicious food and a range of platter options. Lastly…. Lots of parking available too. I highly recommend Samar, get a taste of authentic Afghan food.

Food is always great, staff are pretty nice, decent portions, and nice, decorative interior. Ample parking space given the entire mall area but closer parking can be full sometimes. Location can also be super busy which means your ordering arriving may be longer for dining in. The same could be argued for ordering out as those orders can be prioritized. Nevertheless, worth a visit or two.

Amazing place, amazing owners, and amazing food. The lady at the front handles everything and she does an excellent job doing so. She was super sweet towards my group and I and would continuously ask if everything was okay and if we needed anything. She even went as far as to offer us extra food for free as it is Ramadan and some of us were fasting all day. Any negative reviews in the last month are not an accurate representation of this place as the staff is mostly fasting and still working hard to ensure that everybody gets their food on time and have a good experience.

My group of friends and I decided to visit Samar for iftar. Needless to say, we were all VERY pleased by the taste of the food and portions. The service was spectacular and very efficient. The firni was absolutely delicious and was exactly what I needed after a big meal. Will definitely be coming back!

I recently visited Samar Restaurant in Ottawa and had the most amazing experience. From the moment I stepped in the door, I could tell that the restaurant was run with care. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was outstanding. I had the kabab and rice, which was cooked to perfection. The flavors were amazing and the portion size was generous. The rice was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. The kabab was cooked perfectly and was so tender and juicy. Overall, I would highly recommend Samar Restaurant. The staff was great and the food was delicious. It is definitely one of the best Afghan restaurants in the area and I will definitely be back!

I came from Montreal to dine in. I checked the reviews and it looked very good. Actually It was a very bad experience . The service is bad . The food is disgusting . It looks old and smells. The price is expensive and small portion. Don’t waste your time and money . Never again
