Very tasty Beef Kabob and freshly made delicious naan bread. It was my first time coming to the place today, place was empty but they were busy with take-out order, I enjoyed the food very much, too bad they don't offer Hummus as a side, would go great with the Beef Kabob! There is no parking outside but bicycle parking close by. Plenty of seating's and tables, friendly and courteous staff. Will be back next time, maybe will sneak in my own Hummus, must have with the Beef Kabob! Vegetarian options: Savoury Salads; such as the Silk Road Salad vegan Lettuce, cucumbers, onions, peppers, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds. Afghani Salad vegan Fresh tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and herbs.
So happy I came across this hidden gem. We came for takeout and we got the chicken and the beef kofta. Generous portions and absolutely delicious. Seasoned, fragant and a joy to eat. We tried their Afghan version of dumplings and they are a must. Super reccomended for lunch and dinner. Place is casual and has great service.
Nice kebabs, and the eggplant dish, very flavorful. I really loved the Phirni, really good. Although I wish it was chilled, would have been nicer. Also, please check the produce for the salad, I think the cucumber was a bit off. Loved the message on the counter, "life is short, eat dessert first"
Really accommodating! Me and my friend went here to eat. The lamb shank was amazing. We met Omar i think the owner and the Chef, they patiently waited us to finish even if it was a last minute order. Thank you! We will be back again! Also, the food was a LOT for two people
This is the BEST Afghan restaurant I have ever been to in downtown Toronto, possibly the best in the six boroughs! The chaplee kabob is especially exquisite: it is thick and juicy. The naan is amazing, it is the perfect texture both on the outside and the inside. Taking a piece of the naan with a piece of the kabob and dipping it in the red sauce creates such a perfect medley of tastes in your mouth. It is one of the most satisfying gastronomic events you will ever experience. I go here at least once a week. It is an incredibly satisfying meal.
I was debating whether I should go here or not, but then I took a chance. Upon entry I was greeted by the owner, and asked how I was doing instead of “can I take your order” very humble man. The restaurant was neat, clean and very organized. Unlike other typical restaurant, I didn’t lose my appetite upon entry. I craved more. The menu is very simple and photos make it easy to choose what I wanted. After I got a chicken tandoori wrap, a baklava, and a bottle of water with very reasonable price, I was surprised how good the food tasted. It was very authentic, fresh and full flavour and juicy. I would definitely go again next time I’m hungry.
Great place with amazing food, has big line ups during lunch time but very good and worth waiting for. Kabobs are freshly cooked and well marinated. Stopped here with a co worker after work a d truly enjoyed there dinner. The atmosphere is nice and staff is very friendly. Deffiently recommend to any one craving a nice fresh kebob Kabob. Deffiently will come back.
This is one of my favourite hidden gems! Very rarely do kebab places have food that tastes as incredible as it smells, and this place always delivers to that promise. Staff is super sweet too. The lamb soup reminds me of wedding food, and even the spiced rice served with any of the kebabs is incredible on its own. The food takes a while to be made, and while that's the only drawback, I guess it's worth the wait because it's so fresh and flavourful. The meat is tender and juicy, spice levels appropriate, and for those who don't have a heavy sweet tooth, the baklava is perfect.
I am visiting from the states in an area that doesn’t have many halal food options. We were only here a couple days and really wanted to take advantage of having so many halal restaurants nearby. Stopped at this place for lunch and boy did it not disappoint. The man behind the counter was very kind and friendly. They definitely take pride in sharing their food with others. I had a chickpea dish and my husband had lamb shank. We were both very satisfied. I want to stop by one more time before I leave to give another dish a try. The chickpeas were so flavorful, the lamb shank was falling off the bone and so tender, rice was cooked perfectly. A very simple and casual restaurant with great tasting, quality food.
Tried this place for the first time. Good customer service but food took almost 30 mins be sreved. I ordered paneer platter. Found the paneer dry. My friends had meat platter and said it was good.
