Salvation Army (The)

Recently moved to Waterdown and love this store!! Books at a great price and so many nice things I have to give myself a limit before I go in!! Went to Value Village once and never found a thing! Books are expensive at Value Village and for 2 curtain sheers were 8.99 each! And store is not laid out to well!! Will not go back to Value Village!!

While visiting this store with my children, I was centred out by an employee (a woman with long grey hair and glasses) in front of other customers while she berated me. After criticizing me audibly for me asking my son to stay close and not allowing him to wander alone, she had me in tears out of embarrassment for being centred out and made to feel like a bad parent. With children going missing every day around the world, wanting to know my children are safe does not make me a bad mother, nor does it warrant being treated the way I was by the employee at this store. Needless to say, I will not return to this store as long as this woman works there, and I will make sure all parents I know never attend this store for fear they’ll be treated the same way simply for wanting to ensure their children are close enough to supervise. To the store owner: please consider speaking with your staff and helping them understand what customer service entails and how the way they treat customers is a direct representation of the company. If your store does not allow me to shop there unless I do not care about the safety of my children, then post a sign on the door that states caring parents are not welcome.

I've been going ever since they opened. At first, the prices were far better than Value Village. However I started noticing that they were putting more stuff in the display cases. Ridiculously priced of course. Even though they get everything for free. And now it's just crazy. Everything that might be slightly interesting is now in the display cases. And some of it isn't. Notice the other reviews. They were posted just before the prices started to skyrocket. I knew it would happen eventually. And it has. Not sure why this happened but it's a shame. EDIT. Going to update this again. They're still putting individual prices on games. Not acceptable. Not specific to this store but all Salvation Armys have raised the price of Vinyl to 3 dollars each. At Value Village, a record is 2 dollars each. But they have lowered prices of CDs to 2 dollars each. That's good.

Love that used this nags will help the community. Is a must when visiting Waterdown.
