We went for my partner's birthday. The food tasted wonderful! We loved the oysters and steaks. The cocktails I ordered didn't taste like alcohol, which is great because I don't like tasting alcohol in cocktails lol. We also really liked how our server gave us just the right amount of attention. He was friendly, helpful in suggesting menu items, and he didn't hover over us or ask us if everything was good every 5 minutes. Overall great experience!
Food was delicious. However, asked for slight pink for the burger and got well done so it was a bit dry but the bacon Benedict was so good and French toast melts in your mouth. Cinnamon roll is huge. Definitely to share. Service was great and atmosphere is so nice and cozy. Great for brunchFood: 5/5
I don't give 5 stars across the board very often so in my mind this place is very special. My wife and I visited to celebrate our 30th anniversary and as soon as we walked in the door I knew we were in for a treat. We started with oysters and champagne, then a excellent beet salad and finally skirt steak cooked perfectly, prawns, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything tasted amazing and came out hot. Before we left we planned our next visit and menu choices, it was that good.
We had a lovely Saturday evening dinner here. We started with oysters and seafood chowder. Oysters were fresh and the mignonette sauce was great. We ordered the large seafood chowder, it was delicious but the portion was a bit small for a large. Next up for our entrees we had a prawn risottowe asked for no sausage in the risotto, Prawn salad, and bone in pork chop with fingerling potatoes. Everything was delicious, and service was great! We have 2 small children, and one of them spilled a drink, but the staff kindly helped clean up the mess. There are children’s menu’s and crayons. There was quite a lot of people waiting at the front door, so we were glad we made an online reservation before we arrived. Prices are a little on the expensive side, but it’s a excellent place for upscale dining and/or a date night.
Always a great experience. Our visit was on a Friday and St Patrick's Day. Good news, they take reservations online with Open Table. We arrived at 7:15 and our table was ready. And, they had a full house. We opted for two small plates - Spanish Octopus and Mussels and Clams. It so easy to over cook octopus. Not here. The flavor was rich and meat was tender. So good!!! And, the broth for the shellfish was amazing. What a treat! We've visited Salt and Iron for years. The quality remains high. Still, I wish the restaurant wasn't so loud. Hard to complain when everyone is having a good time.
It’s a good and reliably good place. I visit it frequently. Last time mussels and clams were proper. Steak was good , better than in places around , but not five star either. Giving four stars
Great food. The prawn risotto is very flavorful, and comfortable. I also like their seafood pot, lots of variety of seafood, very fresh and fragrant. The bone marrow is also good. Like their food and service both.
I came here for oysters and cocktails. The oysters we got were fresh and delicious. I honestly wanted to order another set. The mignonette was unique, it was some type of slush. As for the cocktails, they were alright. Nothing unique to them. Basic cocktails that match the $12-$13 price.
Wanted to try this place for awhile now and finally got to do so. Service was phenomenal and top-notch. Hence, 3 stars! However, food was otherwise. Started with the Peel & Eat Prawns. It had a foul smell which was a red flag and as soon as I sink my teeth into it, it was off! Not only did it had a foul smell, the prawns were not firm but rather grainy, falls apart and mushy! I moved on to the next while talking and rationalizing myself into perhaps, it’s how the restaurant prepared it or it’s special secret sauce. Nope! Every single prawn had the same characteristics. I had somebody else tried it and agreed. Long story short, I left the restaurant ill. I took it easy and as soon as I got home I tried to put myself to sleep whilst my tummy was having a revolution. I was in agony for at least 6 hours! There is no excuse in serving rotten food! I wonder what is going on in that kitchen!
Walked by and found this place for dinner. Nice atmosphere and good food. Small plates were nice to see but I had the petite filet and it was 4 pieces of meat, I mean I understand petite but come on now.
