Safeway Nelson

Clean, dependable prices and very friendly service! They sometimes lack in the fresh produce department, but I imagine it might be harder to keep some of that in stock in small town Canada, especially since we're not right on the main highway. They do a great customer-appreciation day on the 1st Tuesday of every month.

Handy local grocery store. Deli platters are exceptional in particular here as compared to other Safeway stores, which is what makes this a 5-star rating.

Parking lot is very confusing! I have been almost mowed down by too many crazy drivers! Prices are good though so I don't know if its that bad

Consistently awful customer service especially from management and the Customer Service reps. Having worked in retail for 10 years and grocery for 3 (at a store and corporate level) this kind of service is unacceptable. Save On and Kootney Coop are both far more pleasant places to shop. From a service perspective though there are some wonderful cashiers at Safeway.

This is a good store. I liked that Nelson's local coffee was available for purchase. The produce wasn't awesome sadly as the corn was pretty rough but no other issues. Friendly staff and clean store.
