Safeway Castlegar is a decent grocery store with a good selection of products, but the experience is often ruined by the staff and the quality of some of the food. On multiple visits, I’ve encountered employees who seem uninterested in helping customers—either standing around chatting with coworkers or acting annoyed when asked for assistance. The deli and hot food section is particularly disappointing, with items that are often barely warm or outright cold, making it clear they’ve been sitting for too long. While the store itself is clean and generally well-stocked, the lack of customer service and the inconsistent food quality make shopping here frustrating. It’s not a terrible place to get groceries, but with a little more effort from the staff, it could be much better.
This safeway is pretty decent and I nice place to shop. There is lots of parking and it’s close to lots of things. They have a bathroom too which is convenient. They also have a starbucks in the store which was okay. Overall pretty good store.
Above and beyond floral arrangement! Living far away I was at their mercy to make an arrangement and deliver to my mom, but it ended up being incredible and perfect. The arrangement was made by Heidi and she followed my requests to a tea. Fabuloso! Thanks again.
In four of six trips the cashiers or deli has overcharged me by using the wrong price for items on sale. At this point it's either willful negligence or active malevolent price manipulation. ALWAYS confirm your receipt is correct because the majority of the time it's wrong.
Shout out to the Jamaican? lady at the sandwich counter March5th PM shift ! She’s awesome! So friendly and she can make an amazing sandwich!
