I noticed milk wasn't fifo first in first out I asked a employee why if they knew what fifo was.nThey told me no, I told them well fifo is first in first out.nThey said oh the kids just throw it in there and don't really pay attention to that.nnProduct all over the store is like this, fifo is important in the food industry especially our grocery stores.nnAs a employee of another franchise, I am stating this to the general public so that you know the food quality is going to be sub par at best.nnThe fifo system was put in place to make sure all products are sold and all products are placed priority as they come in, first in first out keep children from getting sick, it also stops recalls from hitting unlikely consumers before the recalls hit.nnThis is simply because the food dates on example the milk, should not have decided 11,2025 December 13, 2025 and December 17,2025 next to each other in the cooler, instead it should be December 11,2025 , front facing to be picked first, next in line December 13, 2025, December 17, 2025.nnFifo first in first outnnFood handler permit holders are required by law to practice this as it is a federal procedure.nnJust think they do this with the produce you buy which is why it goes bad so fast, not to mention why they have meat sales so frequently.nnBagged salad is always slimy.nnCheck the dates on the shelves expired items as far back as 2018
This is favorite market in GP. Best selection of meats, a bakery, and a well laid out floor plan makes finding things easy.nnHot tip: the fresh bagels each morning are proper. I drive from Rogue River for the bagels alone.
5 star rating for Justin in your meat department. I was looking for a particular cut of steak and unable to find elsewhere in town. Justin tried to obtain from the Safeway warehouse for me but unfortunately not available there either. Justin suggested an alternative cut and was able to do the cut himself for me and was so helpful in making sure it would work for our recipe. Really appreciate the above and beyond assistance and great customer service.
This Safeway, as all the others I've been to, is a good one.nnVery helpful employees, kind and considerate. The store is laid out well, however, it can be confusing for first time buyers. So it takes some getting used to, yet, any employee can help and is ready.nnThe store was recently remodeled and it's much easier to navigate more quickly now.nnI recommend signing up as a 'club member' your phone number, etc., Then you can get better pricing for most things. Moreover, the points you accumulate with purchases can be used to get discounted gas at applicable locations, like Chevron; it just depends on how much you've spent with Safeway. Meaning sometimes 10¢ sometimes 40¢, etc.nnThey have plenty of great produce and meat to choose from that is fresh and actively managed daily. The variety is usually good too. Most times if you ask for something that's not there they can order it as well.nnThe employees are helpful and kind, concerning it is typically easy, although it can be crowded at various times the lives are usually not bad. Self checkout it managed by a helpful employee as well that will keep things moving.nOverall, it's a great location to get what you need, whatever that may be, since they usually have it.
Small safeway, easy to navigate. Prices are a little higher but it's worth it. Staff is very welcoming and accommodating.
