Rushing River Provincial Park - Northwest Campground

Our favourite! Its a beautiful campground, with quiet waters for canoeing. Big rocks for jumping off into the water. Water temps are not too cold. Convenience store a mile down the road from the campground for ice-cream and other necessities. Cant go wrong here!

I'm a tenting only camper. I'm heading across Canada. I have mixed feelings about this park. It's a good place to take kids but it's very busy. I loved how they made all the sites without changing the landscapes. . Lots of steep hills. The waterfront sites are unreal. Impossible to get I think but if you get one, may simply be the best site you ever had. Except you need good mobility. You park your vehicle on the side of road at your campsite post and then take your stuff down stairs down steep embankment to your private site right on the lake. The overflow campsites are more private. ..lots of trees between. . Then the hilly ones.

It was our first time in Rushing River Provincial Park, for a 2 night at the campsite, on the north side. We really enjoyed it. The bathroom and shower areas are clean and practical. Even the facilities (toilet without water... I'm French, I don't know the right word for that), they were clean and didn't smell at all. I was pretty surprise about that, in the good way. The campsite we had, was perfect for us. Enough trees around for intimacy, place for tent far enough from the fire pit, fire pit with a half grill to cook or boil and a clean picnic table. We tried the hiking trails and rented a kayak. It was awesome and so beautiful. The staff are really nice and helpful. The park in general is very clean. The hiking trail are well done and well marked. In the trail on the south side, there are informative signs about the history there, flora and fauna. We definitely go back there.

Loved the park. Lots of great campsites, especially for tenting down by the water. If you are in a powered site with a trailer as we were you will want to make sure you have an extension cord with. We were in South Campground and needed just over 50 feet to reach the power outlet as it was on the opposite side as normal, it's shared between two sites. Just a heads up for anyone else. Shower facilities were great.

Wonderful time canoeing. Campground and campsites are well taken care of. We'll likely be back!
