Route 42 Diner & Dairy Bar

Food was good waitress was very forgetful I literally had to get up to get a coffee refill. Also we ordered a milkshake and we were almost done our meal before it came out. To be fair they are usually very good there, we live up north and we visit family in Windsor and this place is usually our go to breakfast place. Parking: The restaurant is in a little strip mall so lots of parking just might have to walk a little, handicap parking is right in front.

50's style. Pros: Quick service. Amazing wait staff. Nice portion sizes. Everything tasted great. Covid precautions in place. Cons: No coffee refill. Just one cup to nurse for the meal. My wife got a Coke that seemed to taste like a flat Pepsi. Huge watermark on the ceiling, smelt musty in that corner. Over all route 42 is a nice little place. We have not had a bad experience yet. Sure there are some cons, but not everything can be perfect everytime. Good price, good food.

Asked for over easy eggs they came scrambled. Told them they had it wrong and she asked me for my plate back. I said no, get me a plate I'll put the eggs on them and give you that and you can come bring me the eggs I asked for. Then they bring me 2 eggs, supposed to get 3. The waitress drops it off and runs away quick no time to say anything. 10 minutes later I see her and tell her I'm supposed to get 3 eggs, got 2 and also that the rest of the food was not good. Can tell that it was sitting around under a heat lamp for a while. She offered to get me another egg. I was like no thanks take some money off my bill instead. She said no. Offered me a scoop of ice cream. Took her 15 minutes to go get it though. Dissapointed and won't be returning

My friend and I stopped in for a late breakfast. Happy to say, they had his classic all day breakfast. I had the sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs rolled up by a pancake. I drizzled some syrup onto it for completeness.Food: 4/5

Overpriced, tiny portions, and terrible service. Went in a group of 6 for lunch and it took about 15 minutes for someone to even come to the table after we were sat to greet us and offer a drink. The server also seemed lost and confused the whole time. When the meals came out we were all thoroughly disappointed. They were tiny and anyone that had cheese it wasn’t even warm yet alone melted like it should have been I have attached a picture of the grilled cheese... if you can call it that, and the home fries had chunks that were literally the size of an entire potato. Also, many items were missed and we had to remind the server about them for them to be made and brought out. Can confidently say it is not worth the hype in the slightest.

The young girl who brought us to our table was very nice. But then we waited about 15 mins to even be acknowledged by out server, who didn't introduce herself, simply asked if we wanted coffee while passing by. When we asked if we could get something else to drink she seemed annoyed and then brought us the tiniest cup of water I have ever seen. We waited another 10 mins before she came to the table and said "what do you want". After we got our food she never checked on us, we tried to flag her down to ask for more water but she ignored us. Finally she asks us if she already gave us the bill, which she did not. I asked for a take out box. After walking by the takeout boxes she brings us our bill without a box and never comes back to the table. After 10 mins I grabbed my own takeout box and we brought our bill to the front counter. We believe our servers name was Jen but she never introduced herself. On top of all that the food made me very sick as well.

A wonderful experience this morning. Food was great service was second to none! Eiesha was personable, pleasant and took very good care of us. Very pleased.

They were short staffed but service was still decent. The food quality has gone down from what it was before the big C debacle. Still fairly nice diner atmosphere.Food: 2/5

No complaints here! Very family friendly environment and waitresses were readily available and attentive. Good portions were great and tasted lovely too!

The place was packed with three servers who were busting their butts off! They were pleasant and although we waited a little longer than usual for our food - it was well worth it. Hats off to the workers their who are clearly working together as a team
