What was once a huge piece of History & our Worcester History is now officially no longer in business. Worcester's family run furniture store had permanently closed their doors originally on October 27th,2022. I took those pictures last week before they closed thete doors forever. We will miss Rotman's furniture it was a huge piece of our city .
Visited for Black Friday before they closed their doors forever, selection was sparse as expected and from the looks of it most of it was stuff my elderly grandparents wouldn’t even like. Everything is marked down and still considerably more expensive than competitors and the building smells like a nursing home. What really made the experience particularly unpleasant was a salesman verbally berating very loudly and aggressively my partner and I for looking at a decorative piece that “belongs to the Rotmans family” and “isn’t for sale”. A small piece of advice - if you’re liquidating your entire stock and running a going out of business sale in a furniture store then don’t leave stuff on the floor that isn’t for sale and you don’t want touched or looked at. If this is how all of the staff treats potential customers then I understand why the business has failed. It’s truly sad because we found a bedroom set I absolutely loved but between the sticker shock prices and how incredibly rude and embarrassing I was treated there was absolutely no way I was spending a dime in this place.
Selection and overall experience is like no other, it's a great store to find inspiration but often doesn't have a full set that I'm looking for. Also I have found that the overall majority of their stock is priced higher sometimes significantly higher than competitors for the same or similar name brand furniture. I would recommend Roman's for their rugs not as much their furniture.
I literally went to this place for my first time and it was awesome. Joey took care of me and he proved that I went to the right place for what I was looking for. He has a great costumer service and he is also very fun and kind. If you go to that store, look for him and you will have a great experience! Thank you, Joey! Thank you, Rotmans!
When we arrived, we just wanted to be left alone to look at everything. A saleswoman interrogated us at the entrance. She said she wasn't going to follow us around, but she did later admit she was watching us on cameras. She probably wasted 15 minutes talking to us about rugs that were way too expensive and not to our taste, and I started to worry she was slowing us down enough we wouldn't be able to see the whole store before it closed. I'm glad we ignored her implied advice to skip the upper floors, as there was stuff there on our list which we hadn't gone over with her. I've never bought furniture online, but I'm going to try that next because this is not the first time I've been unable to fight off furniture salespeople. The actual furniture and rugs were not to my taste - hardly anything with bright colors or modern designs.
Horrible experience. Unpleasant salesman with big bags under his eyes followed my partner and I at every turn. We finally made it back to the first floor, he thought we left and made awful comments about us to his associates. They had to shush him because we were still within earshot of him! Will not be returning. He needs to go!
The mattress I purchased exactly 2 months ago arrived to me in apparently crisp condition, but was sagging, dipping, and protruding in weird places a tiiiny bit from the minute head hit pillow in a way that the display model in the store was absolutely NOT. By two weeks in, the sagging was 100x worse than it was upon arrival and it was clearly and noticeably making my preexisting lumbar and disc issues in my spine partially caused by a previous mattress as well as insomnia quite a bit worse. Now it’s so bad, not even an uncomfortable, short nap can be teased out of this stupid thing! For 2 months I’ve been trying everything to keep this mattress on life support, rotating it, supporting it with cardboard and other materials, experimenting with sleeping positions, and it’s not salvageable at this point. I’m in excruciating pain right now, I didn’t get a minute of sleep last night, and I’m at the end of my rope, as I can’t afford a new mattress. I’m gonna make a warranty claim, but from what I’ve read online, it seems like Stearns and Foster only follows through on warranty if the disfigurement of the mattress meets ridiculous standards while refusing to accept claims for mattresses that are well beyond a state where anyone could possibly sleep on it if it doesn’t look extremely visibly depressed without weight pushing it down. Though this is mostly S&F’s fault and mine for not doing more thorough research on this policy, I’m incredibly dissatisfied with Rotman’s for selling a mattress that no reasonable person could assert actually functions as a mattress and for knowingly offering an essentially useless warranty on a product that costs >$1,000.
Tried to buy furniture during their going out of business sale but they never answered my 4 phone calls. Came back and they sold it and wasted my time. They deserve to go out of business. Smelly people and place
We purchased furniture 5 years for our new home. We visited the showroom countless times before purchasing, the salespeople were helpful and friendly when we mentioned we had been in so many times and were browsing to see if we found anything we liked better. 5 years later we still love our furniture. They also have an amazing flooring selection. I sold tile but knew I didn’t want that in my bathroom, they installed a beautiful basket weave linoleum that still is easy to clean and people always think it’s tile until they step on it. Last year we purchased a new living room set from themwe kept our old one until then a few months after the warranty one of the couch reclining seats stopped reclining, I sent them an email and they said as a courtesy they would send someone out to repair it. Just a wonderful company to do business with. They are priced right and have a beautiful showroom with a great location too! Certain discount chains definitely do not price out less than they do for comprable products and the service isn’t even CLOSE!
Had a wonderful experience at Rotmans. My sofas are great and comfy. Thanks a lot to Theo the sales man. He was amazing, helpful, very friendly, and had time to explain all my questions. Again, thanks Theo. The delivery guys were punctual, fast, and friendly too. It was definitely a good experience.
