Came to this arena in downtown Edmonton to see the first Battle of Alberta of 2024-25. Match started at 1800 on a Sunday night. Venue is modern, has lots of bathrooms and signage, and looked to be one of the larger-capacity hockey arenas that we visited so far, anyway. We sat in the third row of Section 215, and had a GREAT view of the entire ice. The seats' arrangement in the whole arena seemed steep - which might have been intentionally done ? to allow a good view of the ice from virtually anywhere in the arena. Concession was pretty arena-standard fare, for example, $7.50 for a cup of French fries. Large venue entrance on the south side of the arena, with bonus statue of Wayne Gretzky and the Stanley Cups replicas , I think that the Oilers have won. Plenty of paid surface parking in the vicinity around the arena, and light rail McEwan Station is located immediately adjacent to arena on the north side. All in all a good experience.
Definitely the best NHL arena I've ever been in. The place feels huge and quite lavish for a sporting arena, it's very modern. The game experience is well produced and the seats are also the comfiest cushioned even up in the nosebleeds. Truly a spectacle. My only complaint is how steep the nosebleeds are, I feel like I could fall into the next row if I didn't watch my step.
Sportsnet club is very cool if you have the chance to go. General seating is also decent. I took off a star because food prices are so astronomical it's almost incomprehensible. And the food is really not very good. But everything else about this place is great. Grab a bite to eat before you come and you will be good to go.
Currently attending the CCMA awards. Great evening so far, having a great time, wonderful entertainers.nWent with family and hope to have a full night of fun. Here are some little tidbits bits of the start.
The building is very nice and easy to get into. Ford hall is a great entrance point and has lots of character. There isn’t a bad seat in this rink and you can see the play from all angles. The bathrooms flow fast even if the lineups are crazy long. I would visit again when I had the chance.
