I'm giving 5 stars ONLY FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT! Tayler Grace is a modern day Joni Mitchell and she was a beautiful surprise! BLACKHAWK was outstanding and well worth the ticket price. The staff were good, the sound was good... communication was awful! Prices were too much, no provided seating. We arrived early, along with many others as the website said doors open an hour prior to the start of the band.This was not the case. Getting somewhere early to obtain a good spot, standing in line outside for an hour and a half, then having to stand for an entire show that you spend $50+ each for a ticket is just wrong, especially if you're older. The business savvy if this venue's owner is bad! Instead of having people standing outside, let them in, serve them food and drink and get a jump start on your sales! Provide seating, first come first serve, at least older people can be included in such events. As for the patio, what a terrible waste of real estate! There's a beautiful, large, glassed-in patio with outdoor lighting and again no tables and chairs, just two big ashtrays!! Drink service should be out there with tables and chairs. Think of the money you're losing! Maybe then they wouldn't have to charge $10 for a can of beer or cider! I saw a ton of money loss. They need to update their website, as it does state doors open 60 to 90 minutes prior. Also, they have a voice message when you call but they want you to leave a message, but you don't get a call back. Change the message for each event that clearly states what time the doors will open. Not sure why it is so difficult. Personally, this is not a venue I would attend again, but I'm also in my 60s and it's not easy to stand for 5 to 6 hours. Hopefully this business will consider making some of these changes, not only for the benefits to their business, but also for their patrons.
I’m leaving this review as everything felt seamless. The door staff were so welcoming and pleasant, which set the tone right away, check in was a breeze!nnWe had preferred seating, and the service truly made the night. Our server was incredibly attentive and not having to go to the bar was a plus! She was on top of everything without being overbearing. Thank you Ashton for ensuring our night was great.nnThe whole night just flowed effortlessly, and we were honestly blown away given some of the reviews we had seen beforehand. It completely exceeded our expectations.
Not much for parking and only standing room but the staff were friendly. We were there for July Talk in March '26 and the sound was good and we were able to see the stage from behind the sound booth. The only issue with standing room only is some people can be quite pushy, my wife was elbowed in the kidney from a young woman quite aggressively shoving her way past during the concert.
This is a pretty good venue that could be great with a little more attention to detail.nnI love the cozy atmosphere of shows here and it’s nice that if you don’t want to be in the pit that you can be just as close on a railing surrounding the pit. You never feel too packed in anywhere—pit or otherwise.nnI think the biggest issue is people crowd surfing in that tiny pit area. It’s a little dangerous as people can only really surf 3-4 rows which leads to throwing humans on top of each other quite often. There also just isn’t enough people to carry multiple surfers at once, which has resulted in a lot of folks getting dropped at shows I’ve attended. It’s just too small of an area to accommodate a super rowdy crowd of surfers. A possible solution would be to expand the pit in the rear so more people are down there which would result in safer surfing, or make it a moshing only area.nnJust my 2 cents from someone who was at some sold out shows recently watching a crowd almost drop band members who wanted to surf. If the crowd can’t even support a member of the band they’re here to see, what hope do the rest of us have?
Went to our first concert at Midway and have to say that our experience was absolutely top notch! The entire staff starting with Ashton the manager that greeted us when we got there was beyond what we could have ever expected. Cannot say enough good things about this venue, and can’t want until the next event we are lucky enough to attend. Thank you so much Midway and Aston!
