Story

Established in 1896, Riverdale Cemetery comprises 90 acres situated along the Niagara River between Niagara Falls and Lewiston, New York.
Riverdale offers several several areas for full burial, mausoleum and niche wall entombments as well as areas for cremains. Our Veterans Section honors those who have nobly served the nation by allowing veterans and their spouses to be interred side by side. We proudly serve families of all faith traditions.

This is the worst kept cemetery I have ever seen. It looks abandoned. They have not cut the grass at all this year 2022. You cannot even see the headstones. A few folks have tried to cut paths to their loved ones resting places 85% or the cemetery is untouched and the few spots they cut looks horrible. Be ware of this past beauty as it is now embarrassing. I had to cry as I looked at the high grass and the mess that used to be a Beautiful place Just want back after they promised to get there act together and they started as directed and then just left it I have reported this to channel 2 ,4 and 7. Buffalo news and town of Lewiston. Disgraceful and the same excuse you have been using for 3 yrs. By now figure it out. The other cemeteries have.
My mother passed away in March’22. We’ve had the family plot @ Riverdale for 40 yrs. Not only have we put up with the recent piss poor upkeep of the cemetery plots, but we are still waiting for the gravesite to be leveled and seeded as it should have been by now. So the site is a mess. My father‘s veteran WW II stone is buried in the mud. How disrespectful can you be. Plus our Hostas were weed whacked! Is this from your wonderful volunteer help or do you guys actually plan on fixing things? The Baney plot is in the left front of Riverdale as you drive in to the cemetery. It’s basically across from your office along the chain link fence towards where Stauffer chemical used to be. Very close to the front.
Absolutely disappointed in how this cemetery. I have never seen it this bad before. I have family and friends buried here and It is appalling to see the grass higher than the headstones, grass growing in between headstones not trimmed. I drove through and saw huge old trees that have fallen and are laying across people's plots and stones. To top it off no water to water flowers and I had to weed wack around the headstones of my loved ones . Very upsetting and discrasfull. Shame on the Riverdale cemetery and its staff for letting it get this out of hand.
Just horrible. They should be ashamed. Hire a lawn service. If I could afford it I would remove my loved one and go elsewhere No need to reply
Absolutely sinful & disrespectful. The grass is hip high. How dare you not maintain the place of peace. Get your act together!!!!
Absolutely disgusting, no water and never cut the grass.
Beautiful grounds and an idyllic place to remember loved ones. Well kept and serene.
