Riverbend Campground And Canoe Rental | Camping, Canoeing, Kayaking, and Tubing On The Rifle River!

Beautiful place! Riverbend is a beautiful, scenic campground. Lush trees, great river access (a sandy beach and great fishing), and well kept grassy campsites. We moved over here after a bad experience at Russell Campground. Everyone was so nice and happy, and the sites were top notch. Great privacy, large clean bathrooms and even nature trails. This is a beautiful stretch of the Rifle River to float and the perfect spot to stay while doing so. I hope I can return again this summer!

My wife, son, a friend of his and I went there for a little canoeing today. What a great time we had! The staff was super friendly. I felt like they genuinely cared that we have a good time. The water was great, not many obstacles and the ones we did encounter were easily avoidable. Beautiful area. We will definitely be back. We're planning a tubing trip with a bunch of friends before the summer is done. Thank you very much!

Paid $20 for "Deluxe" tubes for a 3 hour trip. The tubes were extremely filthy, and unstable. When we got on the bus to get to the launch, there were so many people crammed into that bus that some had to stand, which was not safe in anyway. Everyone in our group with a deluxe tube got flipped off. The tubing conditions were extremely dangerous. While i understand that it's not the campground responsibility, they could have AT LEAST warned people about the river conditions. The current was moving so fast, that if you fell off it was almost impossible to get back up. There were fallen trees EVERYWHERE, some new, but some were definitely old. The combination of the current and fallen trees made it so unsafe. You hardly had enough time to try to move out of the way. We had to help a family that stuck in between some of the fallen trees. One of the people in our group got flipped off, and sucked under a tree and barely made it out. When we let the campground know how bad the conditions were, they didn't seem concerned at all. No seemed to care, they just old us "it all happened last night", so clearly they knew it wasn't that safe. I understand that a business needs to make money, but if conditions are so bad that people are getting stuck and flipped off into the fast water, something should be said/ or done. It was the most stressful 3 hours of tubing. I'm not saying this was all Riverbends fault, but they should have least given people a heads up about the dangerous conditions, and at least shown some concern when we alerted the staff. (To respond to the response i received from the owner, we didn't destroy any of your tubes. They were returned in the same exact condition as when we received them. Nobody let us know about the river conditions in any way what so ever, there was literally no conversation about it. I don't know where you're getting the idea that anyone in my group would have responded in that way.)

I have been going here every Memorial Day weekend for the last five years with my family and just like all the rest this past Memorial Day weekend was exceptional. The staff members are great, the sites are fantastic, and the kids have a blast. I highly recommend this campground. Very family oriented and the canoeing/kayaking is a blast. Tom and Katie have done an amazing job with this place and I constantly see improvements year to year. I think its rare to see such interaction and involvement from campground owners, its comforting to know that two people take the time to be involved and greet guests. Tom and Katie keep up the great work.

Great campground. Friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable. Clean restrooms and showers. Our riverfront site next to the beach is awesome!! We will be back.
