The Pinewood Lodge

Went in to ask about room prices and availability and was completely disgusted by the smell and cleanliness of the lobby. Cannot recommend this hotel at all.

Pictures are misleading they are from a while ago. When you first walk in your hit with a strong musty smell, turns out they have a leak in the pool area and only run the filter when you ask to go swimming. Then when we walked into our room it smelled like smoke, sure it had a coffee maker and microwave but the sheets had stains on them AND we found multiple hairs in both the beds, not clean at all!, the mattress and box springs had stains on them as well! The hallway carpeting was dirty and things needed to be cleaned up we turned around and left this place, they allow pets but I would not let my dog stay here!!!

Room smelled like smoke when we checked in. Just glad I brought 2 candles to take care of that issue. King size bed with three pillows....most places give you a min. of 4 for that size of bed. The only amenity was one small container of shampoo. One small bar of soap for the sink and tub. There was a coffee maker and when I went to get another package of coffee it was like pulling teeth and you would have thought I was hitting their bank account! Towels were so thin you could see thru them! Hot tub out of order. Every light in the room was a three way with one option LOW. Air conditioner was very loud and didn't work very well. Supposed to have continental breakfast...that was a joke! Not only were there NO lights on or a switch to be found the coffee pot was out of order; two cereal containers with barely any in them; about a quarter loaf of white bread and needless to say nobody was in there to have anything and we left empty handed. The minute I left the room to go elsewhere to get coffee the woman wanted to clean it! I told her that wasn't necessary and my husband wasn't even up yet! Last but not least, you could only enter one door as the other one didn't work with anyone's card key. We will be checking out other options for next years trip unfortunately.

Very quiet and very bare bones. Rooms are clean and for the price not a bad place to overnight. The rooms are as they were when the hotel opened. The proprietors are very kind and the place is pet friendly. Beds are comfortable enough and WiFi is available, but a bit dodgy.

Room is clean. The bed is comfy. The pool & hot tub are out of order 😞. Pet friendly!
