Great place to Camp, family friendly, wonderful access to the Rifle River for both launching and Landing. Clean shower houses plenty of hot water reasonable rates

In total I have been going to this campground for the last 13 years. I have a lot of good memories but, after this past weekend I will not be visiting this campground again. After I returned home this past Sunday I called to make reservations for August and was told I couldn't make just camping reservations that I had to also rent either a tube or canoe in the months of July and august. Funny, because I just came back and from this reservation July 8th-10th and did just camping and brought my own tubing equipment. I also did the same thing last year. The girl on the phone became defensive and I explained calmly to her that there is nothing in their brochure or on their website that states for the months of July and August that I can't just camp. Still defensive I decided to take my money and business elsewhere. U have to pay for ur shower which is 25 cents for each 2 and a half minutes so good luck finding hot water. If u do bring ur own equipment, they don't transport it. Not even for a fee. But they do charge for u to launch ur equipment. I've noticed how overpriced they r and even the lady camping next to me agreed that they nickel and dime u to death. Needless to say, I've decided that from now on I will b taking my business to Riverbend. Their showers r free, u can bring ur own equipment and for a small price they will transport it for u and some of their camping fees are cheaper. WILL NOT be visiting russells or crystal creek again.
