River View Dining

Food was really good. I loved the BBQ oysters and poor boy. The oyster cocktail was pretty good also. The owner seemed to take slot of pride in his work and was very nice. Almost too nice. To the point of creepy nice.

Best seafood I have had in this entire state! There is a long waiting period because they do everything the old fashioned way at least 30 minutes to get your food but well worth it. Everything was so tender and juicy. I got the sauteed captains plate and I have never tasted such rich scallops. My dad got the deep fried plate and the juicy nature of even the fried food was glorious. My mom got the Hawaiian burger as she is allergic to seafood (Warning the fries and fish are fried together) the burger was very large with a slice of pineapple. A little pricey but well worth it. I'm so full and happy.

Delicious place to pick up oysters. Mine were perfectly cooked. The view is great, too.

Owner is an interesting character who takes pride in what he does, cook food from scratch. Honest about what he has and does and makes no excuses or apologies. We were looking for a local joint on our epic road trip and decided to stop here and we weren't disappointed with the authentic local feel of the place. No chain restaurant stuff here, everything is made from scratch. The food was OK for the most part with the exception of the grilled oysters which were fantastic. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would.

Sunday, around 2pm. Unique place. Worth waiting! Grilled oysters and grilled halibut like never had before! Will go back for sure when traveling on 101!
