Story

After many years of vacationing at their beach home on the Long Beach Peninsula, Dennis and Lois Roberts' dream came true in May 2009 when they took up permanent residence and purchased the Hungry Harbor Grille from Terry Benjamin.

Since opening Dennis' Hungry Harbor Grille, Roberts and his 10 employees have been serving up "good old-fashioned hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chips, handmade milkshakes and fresh cooked chowder every day."

He says once a week they will also feature Mexican dishes prepared by Lupe Pacheco, as well as a "Sammy Day," which will feature specialties by Sam Cervoni.

Service and staff were great. Food came quickly. Burgers were delicious, but fries were average and bland. The strawberry milkshake on the other hand was great! Also, the Christmas collection was awesome! Great place to stop by and get a quick meal.

Super Friendly staff :). Clean.. Great food.. Outside seating.. Right on the main strip.. Lots to look at.. Really good strawberry lemonade.. Huge onion rings and the oyster's and chips hit the spot with my husband :-)... Enjoy

Despite this place being located adjacent to some of the richest fishing waters on the planet, the fish & chips here is the same as you could buy frozen in a bag in a Omaha grocery store. And it will set you back $13. Once you've run through your thimble full of tarter sauce, you'll get pinched for another 25 cents. Skip it, and go get a bag of Mrs Paul's and some Ore-Ida's.

I wanted to like it more than I did. The order taker was great. The food was plentiful and "okay." Drink refills are included along with dishwasher safe take home cup if you get the kids size. Had fish n chips (3 nice size fillets) which came with a 2oz tartar sauce. Extra sauce add a quarter. Took 20 minutes to get meal once ordered. I was thinking my order slipped on the floor or something. No fork given. Noticed when I started to eat the coleslaw. Flagged somebody down. Nice beach comber atmosphere.Nothing special with regards to what I ate. Darn it.

One of the only places on the peninsula that I buy fish & chips. They are really good. They, also, have wifi, so you can read or surf the net while you are relaxing and eating.
