Our kiddo sliced her hand before school and ended up needing 3 stitches. We were helped and released within an hour. The staff were excellent. Dr R was kind calm and firm. Nurse Sarah was supportive and a much needed assistant. Cleaning staff Keri took charge of the other kiddo who was freaking out being in the same room with her bellowing sibling. Our younger kiddo had a nice normal walk and chat around the quieter hallways haha. I suspect there are volunteers involved here too since Keri gave the girls a couple of knitted finger puppets and a glass of juice. Impressed with this hospital every time we end up there. The intake staff is patient and friendly too! Thanks guys!!!

I'm saddened that this hospital has such negative reviews. But we have to realize that anytime you're dealing with the public there will displeased people and a hospital is dealing with people who are ill or grieving or are otherwise just at their worst. I can't imagine the abuse both verbal and physical that hospital staff must endure on a daily basis because they are dealing with individuals at their worst. My experiences with the hospital have been nothing but positive. I was admitted to the ER once with severe gallstones and that went fine. My more notable experiences were involving two of my loved ones. My grandpa passed in the ER and they gave us respect, privacy and options for his treatment. They were truly wonderful and were patient with us when we had the whole family come in to say their goodbyes. The most recent experience I had was yesterday. My 6 month old nephew originally came in for an unrelated X-ray but then stopped breathing. They were swift in his treatment and saved his life. The paediatrician we dealt with was so compassionate and all the nurses were gentle, attentive and patient to both my baby nephew and my sister, my mom and myself. Thank you all for your compassion and hard work. Sorry I didn't get your names!

Absolutely worst food! And to think that they serve you foods loaded with sugar at the hospital is ironic.. in terms of the maternity unit: it really depends on the nurse. Some are super caring and offer friendly service. Some literally pinch and hurt you as they try to help you breastfeed and even give you the wrong info. Watch out if you want a natural labour though.. well all hospitals in vancouver will hunt you down to make you receive all the "precautionary" shots, etc. Love that they have donor human milk available instead of formula!

Please don't take your loved ones here. My daughter fell ill last July and I rushed her to the Ridge Meadows Emergency. They did not do anything to help her. When they called me 5 hrs later they said she was ready to go home. She Begged me to make them keep her she said Mamma I think I'm dying. Kids say things when they feel sick. She was only 26 Years old and not a child just a sick girl. When I brought her home She passed nearly 4 hours later we were sleeping when I awoke she was gone. One more night of observation could have saved this beautiful girls life. I will never go to this Hospital please choose the next close hospital or perhaps a tummy ache will ruin your entire life. Pitt Meadows Emergency is a fantastic option or Mission. Sincerely, Sandra

Firstly, I read Sandra's comment posted recently about her daughters death..sorry to hear about this. I can only imagine how difficult this must be. I hope they figured out what caused her death and this information can be shared. So sad. I was in Maple Ridge emerge 3 times in March with extreme back paid caused by a herniated disc. I had a chance to observe various nurses, admin staff and doctors.. all seemed pretty normal. I met one female emerg doctor towards the end of my pain struggle who was not helpful, she asked me why I was there...well, it was approx 3am and I had been standing for almost eight hours because I could not sit due to pain. All in all, a good experience in emergency.
