Well! If you haven’t tried their dumplings, you are missing out! I have tried so many dumplings from far too much places, and this place is the best!! The owners are very nice, they explained to me that their dumplings are made in house fresh; I had to order a second plate
Decided to try something here and it was of good quality, the food was freshly made, good portions, standard price, the people there are kind, although it might take a bit for your order to be ready depending on how busy it is. I didn't mind the wait because this seems to be a small family run establishment. I definitely recommend trying something off their more traditional Chinese inspired menu instead of the run of the mill American Chinese stuff. I feel it's much more interesting and at least worth trying once if you didn't enjoy their standard menu items.
Everything tasted fresh and my order was ready when I got there. The shrimp fried rice was bomb and they are not stingy with the shrimp either . The General Tso had a nice little kick, not too hot. The egg rolls were like any other Chinese restaurant, the crab Rangoon were fresh and tasty. My only complaint is the sweet and sour chicken had more dough/ batter than chicken itself but other than that I would definitely order from here again when visiting Lansing. Also, the owner and his wife are friendly and nice.
*First order was bad, but the owner did make right and provide new food* Ordered takeout online around 11:45 pm. The order was manually confirmed and said to be ready in 10 minutes. Not believing that I arrived at 12:15 and still had to wait almost 20 more minutes. I'm thinking we'll at least it's fresh... I'm not sure anything was fresh...the chicken for both my General Tso and my husband's Orange was so crunchy and tough I couldn't finish my food. The taste was good, but there were pieces I couldn't even chew or cut with a fork and knife. The crab Rangoon was okay and my husband said his fried dumplings were alright but even those tasted like they had been sitting around for awhile. My son's scheszuan spelling shrimp tasted okay. But the shrimps texture was...weird and not good... Overall. I would never order here again. Actually, I'm so mad that I spent over $60 and still hungry, that I'm on my way to return over half the food we ordered. We will see how they handle it to see if I change my review. *Update* The gentleman, I'm assuming owner, wanted nothing to do with helping us at first. He did offer $20 dollar refund since some of the food was gone, but there was still two whole dishes left so he agreed to remake two of the chicken dishes. Those two dishes came back much better and so I will change my review to 4 stars since the owner did remake two of the dishes and they were good.
Looking for dinner or a late night meal? Gotta try out Rice Kitchen in East Lansing. Tried their Lamb, beef and squid skewers . Their Spicy Shrimp fried rice and Yang Chow fried was excellent . Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef ... super flavorful . Don’t underestimate this little hole-in-the-wall dive. They pack flavor and the price is right. Open late too! Bonus : locally owned by a super friendly family
Read reviews and didn’t know what to expect. Dude at counter was super nice, l got beef loo fried rice and it was good only because I’m starving. But in need of more soy sauce, dumplings bland but nothing soy sauce can’t fix.
really great food for a late night, the crab rangoons were some of my favorites in a while! Really nice proportions for the price
I loved the door dash. they filled the container to the brim and I got my stomach full for only 12 bucks. they had great food and taste too!
Part of the reason I went were all the "1" reviews this place got, to see if it was really that bad. My experience was OK. I picked up my food, and it took about five minutes to get my kung pao chicken. You should really like celery and green peppers, because that is about 90% of the meal. It tasted alright. I have to compare it to other Chinese restaurants in the area, though, and it is not as good as those. I found it amusing that the bathroom had a sign saying you needed a key to use it. And the lady at the counter wasn't even the slightest bit friendly, like I was bothering her.
nice food.. excellent service... reasonable prices!
