The facilities are great - the roof design is unique which makes it stand out. It loses 2 stars since the vending machine, which I gave $3, did not dispense my drink. Avoid the vending machines. It also loses stars for the lib3ral prop@ganda flags that they hang. Also got to see the Olympic Torches for the '88 and '10 Olympiads.
I was raised in Calgary and used to come to “Lindsay Park” all the time growing up. I recently came back to Calgary for the holidays and came to Repsol Centre. It’s been nearly twenty years since I’ve been here and it’s still a great place to go. Surely a great classic. Plenty of activities and tons to do. The whole family can spend hours here. The prices are reasonable and I’m as fond of it today as I was then. Make sure to stop by.
A great place to get active in Calgary, the Repsol Sport Centre is a great option but not the best. There's a wide range of activities to choose from, so you're sure to find something that suits your needs. My favorite thing about the Sport Centre is the pool. It's really big and there's a great selection of lanes, which makes it perfect for swimming laps. The staff are really friendly and always willing to help, and the facilities are always clean. I definitely recommend the Repsol Sport Centre if you're looking for a place to get active in Calgary. What I really like about this facility is the low cost and low income pass option as it makes access to health and fitness much more affordable. I had to reduce a star for cleanliness of the changerooms but this place could easily earn 4 stars.
Group fitness classes are offered from early morning through noon and evening to fit your schedule, great variety from yoga, Technospin, strength and more, and high energy, fun instructors!
Love this facility! They have a multitude of weights to work with, great selection of cardio equipment, a track to run on, pool, hot tub, sauna, lockers that you can bring your own lock or rent a lock. Equipment and pool facilities are kept in clean and working condition. Staff are friendly and willing to help. 10/10 recommend this place.
Cool place for a workout and hot tub. That cold tub is where it’s at!!! Highly recommend Gym is nice, esp with the elevated track. But I would say it’s a bit small and/or tight if busy. So be warned. Good times overall and better than most rec facilities in yyc.
I don't usually write reviews but I had to come on here and say how wonderful training sessions with Brett have been! He is very detail-oriented, caring and compassionate. I was hesitant to get back into weight lifting after having been away for so long but Brett was very understanding, and approachable. Days where I was feeling pain in a certain area of my body, Brett was able to adjust our training schedule accordingly and on the fly. Training sessions were very motivating and challenged me to do better each time. He also created a very thoughtful program guide of our schedule and progress with descriptions and pictures so I could continue training on my own afterwards. I would highly recommend working with him if you want someone comfortable, understanding and approachable!
As far as facility goes it has everything except squash or racquetball however, the courts, tracks and pools are almost always booked by private groups. This means that as a member paying $80 a month, I don't actually get to use these facility's I pay for. Also the steam room/cold tub/hot tub are frequently broken, not working property or close without notice.
Signed up for a one year membership this summer. The first month was great but since then I've realized I made a mistake. The steam room has been broken and when it is even open it's literally useless. Been 6 months with no fix and I know of at least 20 members who have brought this up to staff/management. The hot tub is now a warm tub, it's brutal. During peak hours it's tough to find a spray bottle and trust me you want one. Very few of the "Bros" wash there hands after handling there junk before work outs. I would guess 20 percent do, it's gross. The memberships are iron clad and can't be cancelled regardless of quality of ammenities. Will not be renewing of course. They get an extra star for the cold tub, which is awesome. They just can't figure out the whole "heat" thing.
The facilities are great. It’s expensive if you drop in. But if you get a punch pass or a membership it’s great. Also if you’re coming as a couple it’s cheaper to pay the family drop-in rate. It’s a good idea to check what gyms, track, pools, are reserved before heading over, as a lot of groups have them reserved. Pool has a nice hot tub, cold tub, and steam room. There is no sauna. Lockers are free if you bring your own lock or you can buy one at the front desk or a loonie to rent a locker. Gym has everything you could need plus free basketballs, rackets etc. But there’s often not enough so good to bring your own when it’s busy. Staff are really friendly. Their systems can be tough to navigate, so sometimes it takes the staff a little longer to do some things you might think are basic, but they’re all top notch.
