Red Bird Live Music

This is a newly opened live music venue since spring 2022. Located a km south of Lansdowne so easy street meter parking and free side street parkings. Interior decore is layback with chic velvet linings, dark green vine design walls and dotted with some tables at the centre. The acoustic is nicely arranged through out this small intimate venue. The whole area is less than 1000 sqft, open design with the bar/ snack by the entrance. They also have a few “ out of range” seating areas for those prefer quiet spaces or not in the middle of music concert but wanting to feel the ambiance nearby. Most nights, there is an admission required $10-$25 mostly depending on the band or group playing. Once a week, there is a free admission night for open mic or general participation. While this is a beautiful and speakeasy feel music venue, the music performances target very specific audiences and hence it is rarely full or packed. In fact, I would have prefer this venue for romantic or intimate outings with jazz, big band, soul or opera type of music…… just does not seem to fit with most of the music played at this location. But if you are looking for a nice live music venue and do not care what type of music played, this maybe a nice hang out.

Great music, friendly people, t-shirts for sale. Cool drinks , licensed and great non-alcoholic options. Tasty pastry, filling sandwiches. Also has a music school for piano, vocal and stringed instruments. Easy to find, downtown. Worth checking out.

One of the most pleasant "listening rooms" in Ottawa, with a variety of music ranging from singer/songwriters to bluegrass. Small but well done cocktail menu, beer, coffee, tea and some light food. Open when there is a show. Often a cover charge and popular performers sell out online in advance.

Open Stage is more like a family than a bar. It's Cheers with music... def. all the quirky characters, but no sarcasm or jerks. A multi-faceted, multi-flavoured slice of ordinary life made glorious!

First time last night for the 5 of us to see Brock and the Weber Brothers. Loved it....staff were excellent..made you feel very welcome. Sound was great! Definitely will be coming back...great venue!!

Beautiful space and a good music room. An inclusive and supportive environment for musicians at all levels and lots of variety for listening. :

Great Music venue. Great layout. Great staff. Great customers. And most importantly great performers.

Such a great place to go to enjoy live music! I jam and sing here with a musical group I am apart of. They are very accommodating letting us use their stage for about an hour or so. The food is delicious having different baked goods to choose from such as my favourite: The butter tart. They also sell some snack items and lunch. They have a variety of coffee and teas to choose from as well. Furthermore, it is not boring to look at! Lots of nice decor and atmosphere. To top it off the staff are really friendly with good service.

Attended a ukulele jam, great venue, nice little stage, lower tables and chairs at the front and high tables and chairs at the back. You can get wine and beer as well as teas and coffees etc. Also some snacks - panini sandwich, butter tarts, pecan tarts were all good. Will definitely return

The sound was great and we enjoyed the show while having a drink. It was a wonderful experience.
