3 times this week I've gone there, there have been no carts inside. As someone with a bad knee & chronic health issues, who uses it to help walk, it's ridiculous I have to walk all the way back across the lot to go get a cart every time I come. Today I needed lettuce, but all the head lettuce was expensive & brown mush! Went to get bag of cut lettuce instead. Myself & another customer had to go through several bags to find one decent enough then pay $8.99 for a bag of lettuce, absolutely unreal! He even said if they're going to charge us $9 for lettuce at least have it be good not brown! If you're going to rip us off, have good produce. The strawberries were a mess, half dumped out & other half not worth buying mush. Went to buy cold brew concentrate & there was an open bottle on the shelf too. For a company making over 500 Mil in profit, maybe stop ripping off struggling consumers for crappy produce & meats & hire someone to bring the carts in or make sure they are doing their job! Think it's time to shop at Co-op, I'd rather spend a bit more there for always getting quality meat & produce if I have to meat is usually cheaper there and always have a cart too with friendly customer service.
I have seen the store go downhill in the last two months. Example Today noticed especially the broccoli it was old and should have not been on display. Shelves empty and scattered. Personnel not friendly. Items in flyer not available Everything is pricey but no need for unfriendly and scattered isles . Always loved shopping here but not so much anymore. Also. Hate self checkout no matter how hard I try always have issues.
****UPDATE : prices keep going up on a daily basis at this grocery store, yet they never come back down. It’s so bad that they even raised the price of their flash food items, the app that sells near expired groceries. Over a month ago the App had consistently amazing deals, but for some reason now the prices are even much much higher on there. It’s too bad because with higher prices, people are not going to buy these near expired items that are going to end up in the garbage. I understand Inflation is a country wide problem, but for some reason I see it more at the store and I’ve been seeing it a lot in the last month, ! *******nnI just arrived in Yorkton this evening from Ottawa and walked to this store to get fruits and veggies to keep in my hotel fridge. I was shocked at how expensive the produce was . I was even more shocked at how bad it looked! Dark radishes with wilted leaves, moldy blueberries, rotting Cantaloupe… all of which was ridiculously overpriced. Pale looking navel oranges, bruised pears, brown pomegranates…. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the quality of the produce that evening but when I came back the next day the produce looked much better. I found some good quality stuff and great flash deals as well. Got a beautiful bright yellow cored pineapple for $1.94 and and large Caesar sale kit of 586g at regular price $2.94 minus 30% reduced for a total of $2.06!! Currently the price of romaine lettuce has skyrocketed up to $6.99 for 3 hearts due to bad production so this was a real deal. Looking around in the store one can find some great specials although some things are still really pricey. The store is dead quiet after 9pm and early morning but overly crowded between 4-6pm. Its so crowded one cannot move In the isles and the lineups are massive so I would try to avoid that time. The staff are quite friendly. The self checkout is a great option and its quick. They don’t give plastic bags anymore so bring your own! They have a unique international section . I even found Durian fruit at $4.99 a pound. It was not fresh but whole frozen Durian which may or may not be ripe. At $4.99 one whole Durian would come up to almost $50! Maybe I will treat myself to one at Christmas. After all , its not something you can easily find in regular stores and my other option would be flying out to Thailand to have one. I was really k pressed and surprised superstore carried it. I understand that inflation is hitting all businesses hard . I wish the produce here was more affordable but I am relatively happy and content with all the other specials and the low price of No Name products. Good job Superstore.
Feel terrible giving this such a low ranking especially since the one back home is so much better! Definitely clean and such but just feels like it lost itself somewhere along the way.
They're still requiring a loonie to get a cart. Is it 1980,and we're all walking around with change in our pockets? I asked customer service to give us each a cart 2, like they do at the store by my place in Edmonton. She says no, but suggests I buy a tool from them to use in lieu of a dollar. We left there and went to Walmart.nBring your own bags and bring loonies. Geez, you need a list of things to take with you, as well as your shipping list.nSuperstore lost a couple hundred dollars of business that day and I won't be back.
