I am writing to complain about an expired food product sold to me at Real Canadian Superstore 1549.nnAfter opening the product, we noticed a bad worst taste and unpleasant smell. After consuming a small amount, I realized it appeared expired and had a fungal-like taste. Shortly afterward, I experienced symptoms of food poisoning, causing distress and concern.nnUpon checking the packaging, I found the product had expired in September 2024. Selling expired food products is unacceptable and a serious health risk.nnI have photos, expiry details, receipt with date/time, and proof of purchase. I returned to the store the next day, but the issue was not handled seriously. Although the refund was under $2, this is about customer safety.nnI request an immediate investigation and written response.nReported to Canadian Inspection Agency

I usually come to this superstore and it is good but an experience I had two weeks ago ruined that entire thing. I came through the self checkout with my son after grabbing a few things on our way home. The store clerk locked eyes on us the moment we cane through to the till, this I had to problem with - just doing your job despite the fact that there were 3 other people checking out and she decided to ignore the rest of them and zoom focus on us. I was scanning my stuff and my young son naturally wanted to help me scan them through so I let him do a few while I stood watch and she stood over us too. We had ginger and another produce item cant exactly remember but I know my son scanned it in but when we tried to put it down the sensor alerted and stopped us. I picked it back up and continued to scan the next produce item but it wouldn't take - it scanned as something else which in the end I learned actually ended up charging us more. They woman immediately came over and accusing said that i scanned it wrong but didnt ask what happened. I was already tired and annoyed and dont like being accused, I got pissed and walked off and left the stuff there but as I was walking out the store I heard her say that I was trying to steal to the next person. ME! Calling me a petty theif and that I had to pwtty steal with my son present. My already tired self coupled with the greatest insult ever, I lost it on her. It did not solve anything but it felt good because as a Black woman, I deal with these microagressions and insults on a daily basis. I will go back to try and get her name to make a formal complaint which probably wont go far because I gave her a price of my mind but regardless, I will share this experience here. No ine should have to deal with that!

I bought milk today and couldn’t find the expiry date on the package. When I opened it, I realized the milk was already expired.nI called the store and they said I could only get a refund if I had the receipt. I told them I lost it. The staff told me to throw the milk in the garbage and buy a new one.nI said I would report this to Alberta Health, and she replied, “Who cares about Alberta Health, do whatever you want.”nThis shows they don’t care about selling expired items. Very rude customer service. Be careful when buying from this store

My bad experience is continuing over 3 months. Every time when I was buying a lotto ticket, the black haired female- sellersjust they were touching the credit card reader indicating me that I have to pay there, even I was folding in my hand my credit card and showing them what kind of card I am going use. Of course that was annoying me. However, they giving me the receipt always were wishing me good lack and good day, that was saying that gesture was done to get me negative emotions.

Great experience at Real Canadian Superstore! The store is clean, well organized, and has a huge variety of products at competitive prices. Fresh produce, quality groceries, and everything in one place makes shopping convenient. Staff were helpful, checkout was smooth, and I always appreciate the PC Optimum deals. Highly recommend for everyday grocery shopping!
