Paul was very helpful with my finances! I came in wanting only a new credit card, but left having invested my savings in a much smarter way that would earn me far more interest. Really pleased and happy.

Terrible experience. After providing a power of attorney verified by a lawyer so I could help my dying mother deal with her accounts, the branch manager refused to honor the power of attorney and refused to provide any information about her accounts despite the fact that he acknowledged the power of attorney was valid and a legally binding document. He insisted on speaking to my mother who was incapacitated. It took me weeks and hours of my time to finally gain access, all at a time when I was least able to deal with this kind of petty tyranny that is clearly out of control at RBC

My mother, who recently lost her husband (my dad), went into the branch to apply for a new credit card as the old one was a joint card, had it cut up in front of her by a branch staff member. Why? Apparently after a death the card is invalid. Yeah whatever but to do something that way to a senior who is grieving is no excuse. She was so shocked she was afraid to ever go back.
