Story

Opening summer 2016, Raw is a collaboration project. Our vision is to connect community and earth in a sustainable cycle. Beginning with nurtured regional ingredients and ending with not only healthier lifestyles, but also a flourishing local economy; we aim to link farmers to the people.

Raw will offer Calgarians a welcoming and responsive environment to enjoy nutrient dense food, prepared (when possible) with locally sourced ingredients. We want our menu to change like the seasons- and with the seasons. That’s why co-founder Megan Pope (Graduate of University of Alberta’s Nutrition and Food Science) bases her recipes on changing produce availabilities. We will offer specialty classes in raw food preparation, health oriented cooking, plants, gardening, and sustainability, as well as offer regional foods and health products for retail.

Using local resources and teams, Raw will develop and execute citywide sustainability initiatives to improve the city's overall carbon footprint as well as create cyclical growth in farming culture and economy.
