My husband and I had the most delightful dinner at Ratatouille Bistro! The entire experience was absolutely top-notch. Lovely Zara was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. As for the food, the beef tartare was a flavor explosion, and the wild mushroom ravioli was out of this world. I can't recommend this place enough for a delicious dining experience that will leave your taste buds singing. Five stars all the way!
Great food, great service. Waiter was very kinda and attentive. All their dishes were tasty and beautiful to the eye. I had their crab cake eggs Benedict and it was amazing. Only problem was that it took us a while to get our food. We waited for maybe 30-40 minutes. But overall a great dining experience, would definitely return whenever I'm in Ottawa.
It is a charming little bistro near our hotel. The service is top notch and the food arrived relatively fast. We came here for a late lunch and brunch, both were good. The dinner menu is great! My favourite is the wild mushroom ravioli. The mushroom ravioli is super flavourful and creamy, but not overly heavy. Great combination of flavour and texture. The lamb is super tender and seasoned really well. The potato side for the lamb is so yummy, especially with the sauces. Nice and crispy on the outside, soft but not too mushy on the inside! The brunch is just ok. The short rib skillet I got is under seasoned. As a personal preference I feel like it needs something acidic or bright to cut through the heaviness. The potato under it is perfect. My favourite part of the dish. My friend’s ratatouille sandwich is nice. You can talk they used very fresh ingredients. Unfortunately overall it was a bit underwhelming compared to the excellent dinner we had earlier. Would definitely come back for dinner menu next time we are in town!
This new restaurant had great service! We were tended to very quickly and the waiter who I can’t remember the name of unfortunately was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and the chef! He was able to make recommendations based on the vision of the restaurant being “French fusion”. We had the Duck Confit and the Scallop Lobster Risotto. The portions were perfect and flavours were well paired. Definitely a restaurant worth going back to. Ottawa has been blessed with an elevated French fusion restaurant with an affordable and delicious menu! Vegetarian options: 1 vegetarian appetizer and 1 vegetarian main dish available Dietary restrictions: Almost the entire menu, including dessert, have gluten free options
This small restaurant had some amazing brunch food. Our party tried three different items including the beef brisket benedict, ricotta cheese toast and eggs and also the short rib hash skillet. Every plate was empty by the end. The benedict was amazing and the homemade scone it was on was superb. Service was great and very friendly. It was our first time there and the server offered suggestions and did a great job even though the place was packed. We also ordered the Paloma and a ceaser and both were very well balanced.
An outstanding meal with exceptional service. A nice introduction to Ottawa. The smoked fish appetizer was flavorful and the scallop lobster risotto was also delicious and struck the right balance between firmness and creaminess. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
If you want a relaxing restaurant, great food., and wonderful service, you cannot miss Ratatouille Bistro! The food was excellent, very fresh and well prepared. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful, not only explained the menu with abundant knowledge and passion. He even asked if we have any plan during our visit, took his phone out to look for information, and recommended places he likes! I always know Canadians have highly reputation for being friendly, but this was way above my expectation! Highly recommended!
I took my mom because of the ratings and the duck on the menu. I also ordered the lobster poutine sounds good, eh? Well, it isn't, the calamari and the ravioli French sauce, apparently... The poutine had two pieces of lobster, and the fries had that taste you get when you don't know how to fry them, and they get burned. Simply disgusting, and it costs 22 CAD. The calamari wasn't bad, but not good either, just average calamari, not an 18 CAD Calamari, no. The duck wasn't fresh, and the risotto that came with it was confusing and disappointing. The only decedent thing was the ravioli, but for 32 CAD, you should get two kilos of that ravioli. The place is simple and nice, and the service... He didn't care about going the extra mile. I prefer crossing the street and getting a burger...
Amazing new offering in Byward Area. This little bistro punched well above its weight without being pretentious. The owner , operator , chef, and his staff are knowledgeable and caring. We felt like we were old neighbors, friends, family...we had a dinner here, then came back for brunch. Both meals were the best we'd had in Ottawa. And no reservations as they are still generally undiscovered. The food - carefully crafted and artfully designed plates. Flavors and spiced with classical French, Middle Eastern, or African flair. Seasonal items like fresh wild mushrooms and pears. A variety of fantastic wines are available to match your order or preference. Staff - Attentive, knowledgeable, and hardworking. I wish we lived near Ottawa. This would be a weekly date, night, or Sunday post-hike stop.
Came here for dinner on a weeknight. They’ve only been opened for about 7 weeks now but their food was great! The papaya salad was so good, the burrata made everything so creamy. The tartare was delicious and the sous vide lamb barged was so tender and tasty. One downside was only the heat, we came when it was super hot outside and they were experiencing AC issues, but everything else was great!
