I went to the pembina hwy location of Ranger insurance to renew my autopac and drivers license. Everything was going smoothly until I told the gentleman behind the counter that I wanted to make monthly payments on my license. He strongly urged me against it for the reason of [paraphrasing] "I've had nothing but problems with people missing payments....and I don't need you being belligerent with my daughter..." (his daughter was the receptionist) "...if she calls you to tell you that you've missed a payment!!" Personally, I think that somebody should inform this gentleman that giving a potential client the third degree about being negligent on payments, previous to the potential client signing the papers to arrange the payments in question, is probably not a sound business practice. Considering that my wife and I had recently moved across the city, and were considering changing brokers, I'd say that this guy dropped the ball. We have since decided to stick with the broker we had, and we are more than happy to drive across town to do it.
