Ramsey County Detox Center

The nurses are knowledgeable but it's hard to talk to them becsuse the front desk staff has a complex. I can understand them being kurt with repeat clients but if you are there on a valium protocol or actually trying to get better they treat you like absolute garbage. I am a home owner, gainfully employed and when I went up to the front desk to ask when my discharge would be I was literally ignored. And by that I mean he didn't even respond to my question. He had his tablet set up with a movie and headphones on and when I insisted he acted like doing his job and talking to me was the equivalent to stabbing himself in the eye. I had a simple question for him... And that question was verifying when my discharge would be. It's a 48 hour valium protocol so you can be discharged after that. The reason I kept asking was because they were attempting to keep me there for 72 hours. Which they charge $250+ a night to people who can actually pay it. Don't sign the "expert advice you get from the counselors" because all they do is give you generic advice and make you sign a bill. Ramsey County Detox is a scam to those who actually can pay for their "services".. Outside of that it's a revolving door of homeless alcoholics

I voluntarily put myself into detox so I could also VOLUNTARILY go to treatment a week after detox for 4 weeks of inpatient.. I called and called to a ton of places but unfortunately was stuck with this being the only detox center that had an available bed..Now I know why!! I had the best attitude coming in.. ready to just lay down and take things day by day until I felt better.. by far one of the most normal patients these staff have ever delt with.. The social worker rolled her eyes at me every time I had a question.. I've never done this before..Never been to detox before so I was obviously going to have questions. I even overheard the staff talking to each other saying that I was too high maintenance and had no idea what I was in for.....A detox center is not supposed to make you uncomfortable. They are there to help you and be a stepping stone in getting better. WORST PLACE EVER!!

Best place ever, its like cheers everyone knows your name,and the bologna sandwiches👍and with lettuce and cheese just like mom used to make,just like comming home

Detox unit is on second floor. If a friend or loved one ever asks you to pick them up here be aware for privacy reasons they won't be able to tell you if they are there or not: take the first door to the right after entrance and take elevator to second floor. They most likely would be ready to release at 9am or 1pm depending on when their "release board" is held (either 6am or 10am).
