Rain lounge does it right. Excellent, friendly service every time. Small, artsy bar with a great feel. Generous happy hour, awesome drinks, and very high quality food. It gets a 5 and I don't give very many. ;-
Our bartender was the best bartender ever! Lisa is a rock star, drinks were great. Very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back when we are in town!
The location, ambiance, food, and bar selections are impressive. But the service is the best thing about this gem. Lisa is gorgeous and brilliant! She made me feel like a regular on my first visit. Her quick wit and natural easy care for her clients was something to see. The inclusive, cozy feel she gave everyone was a welcome treat. In an age of distancing, let not your heart be troubled, Just have Lisa pour you a martini and watch all of the worlds problems seem less significant almost instantly. I was visited by the owner as well and he was a very clever and kind gentleman. If your in spokane area do try this establishment.
Rain is a great lounge and Scratch has unbelievably good food. The Duck and the Tenderloin are two of my favorites. Locally owned and operated. Close to the theater district. Amazing service and attention to detail. Also has a great backroom for special events. If you haven't tried this, you are missing one of Spokane's greatest shimmering gems.
Love the comfortable feel here. Great atmosphere to grab a bite to eat and have a few cocktails with friends or even if you are riding solo. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Cudos to Heather on this particular trip!
Used to love Rain. Had such a great happy hour and good food. Had tickets to a symphony performance that was supposed to be outside, but due to smoke and heat, was rescheduled at the Fox. Since Rain is so close, of course it seemed a no brainer to go for dinner before the performance. I ordered the simple house salad for eight dollars and my boyfriend ordered the chicken marsala for $29. We were so incredibly disappointed. My salad was small and the spinach or beet greens had a funky taste, I’m not sure which one. My boyfriend immediately started remarking how bad the chicken was in his chicken marsala. Halfway through I said let me try it and indeed, I’m not kidding you, it really tasted like a foster farms pre-cooked grilled chicken breast that had been over microwaved by at least five minutes. It was so incredibly rubbery and dried out. The sauce also seemed like a jar of store brand Alfredo sauce just dumped in it. For $29, I would’ve expected more out of a simple chicken and pasta dish. He had a beer and I had two glasses of house white wine and the total was $65. It was incredibly disappointing and we both left hungry and unsatisfied. The service was fine but I am regretful that we did not go across kitty-corner to Tamarack instead where at least the food is reliably good. We have had the calamari there late night, after season symphony performances, which has always been good; but it will be a while before we come back if we do.
Great wine choices and really good service. The west end of downtown offers some great options.
Very friendly and comfortable. Great atmosphere. Interesting artwork. Great service. Delicious, well sourced and creatively prepared food. I love Rain Lounge/Scratch.
I don't know what some of these reviewers are smoking.. we diddn't eat any food. It sounds sounds good though. We Instead just ordered drinks. $30 is the cheapest entree going up to $50.
Secretly, Rain Lounge has been one of Spokane's best Bar/Lounge locations for years. It has that casual/ classy feel to it that you can feel just as comfortable in jeans & a t-shirt as opposed to a suit & tie. You can have appetizers & cocktails for 2 and not have a dent in your wallet what you had back home. Or enjoy the full menu experience off of Rain's next door & mother restaurant Scratch talking advantage of the gourmet entrees at a Happy Hour pricing. Add in some live music or a cheer on a Gonzaga basketball game and you have an evening sure to go easy on your pocket book while enjoying a classy lounge experience. If your traveling solo, belly up to the bar. Mari & Heather are both exceptionally knowledgeable and talented bartenders that will make you feel as though you've been frequenting Rain Lounge for years. Truly one of Spokane's hidden gems!
