I rarely leave less than 5 star reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. When we were checking in, the desk attendant confirmed the card I had on file and asked if I wanted to use this card or another one. I asked to use another card and after a short while she said I couldn't because my card on file had already been auto run at 6PM and that thus happens every day - I've literally never heard of this or had it happen before. Also note that there are many signs on the front desk advising all they ways you won't get your $100 incidental deposit back also wasn't mentioned upon check-in. The lobby and breakfast area is nice and updated, but as soon as you walk down the halls, it's a completely different feel. Hallways are dark, smell like smoke, and everything feels damp. Our room wasn't the cleanest. There were multiple stains on the chair, doors, and walls. I took photos just to make sure we weren't charged! This room felt damp and just smelled like smoke again. The bed was comfortable, so that was a plus, but other than that, I was not impressed - especially at a $200/night price point.
We reserved the room a couple months ago for a wedding we were attending 2 weekends ago now in which we were coming from out of state. Upon checking into our room- there were peanut m&ms on the floor from the previous people. The bathroom towels were damp and full of long brown/black hair. The shower was gross, there was mildew or mold along the edges of the shower and faucets. The bathroom fan was broken. The sofa in the room had large stains all over. The facility as a whole just smelt damp/weird. We stayed 2 nights- our friends wedding was on Saturday night and when we got back past midnight our room keys didn’t work. The front desk attended said she accidentally deleted our access so we had to get new keys. Overall the place was okay but could definitely improve on cleanliness
Upon check-in I was told that there was no elevator which was not disclosed when booking. I have a bad back and was told by the front desk to deal with it. He just kept repeating no rooms on first floor were cleaned to use. When my husband carried the first batch of bags up he said it smelled odd and smokey. Being in the room for about 30 mins our son started to weez and eyes burning. He is allergic to smoke. A few things I noticed immediately was the many plaster patches on the wall and some was coming down in the bath tub. Dirt around bathroom and the toilet. Asked the night person to change rooms was given a hard time but finally did on the same floor. Room did smell better. I did ask him to smell our room and he acted like nothing was wrong.
1 star overall, just based on the front desk service. I waited for at least 10-15 minutes before I even saw an employee. Then she acted like my being there was an inconvenience to her, she barely answered any of my questions. She confirmed the last 4 digits of the card I used then asked to see it and charged an additional $82 to my card without explaining why, when I asked she mumbled something or other, so I asked again and she raised her voice to me saying ITS TO HOLD THE ROOM. So in essence it feels like I’ve now paid twice for the room, she didn’t say whether or not it was a temporary charge and was extremely unhelpful. On top of that, the building smells like straight up ammonia, like cat pee on steroids. There were flies buzzing around, didn’t seem that clean if I’m being honest. When we got to the room we find that the toilet is all jacked up and the carpet by the window is wet. Not just wet, but soaked. DO NOT STAY HERE!! You’re better off sleeping in your car. I will be calling their corporate owner and licensor to make a complaint.
The location is fine, and that's the only subjective part. It took 20 minutes for someone to check us in, the hotel looks like a rental apartment from the inside that a landlord hasn't taken care of in years, and there were stains on the furniture. The breakfast was mediocre.
