Second edit: literally the only thing this store was good for is Indian products and now they’ve gotten rid of those? Unreal levels of price gouging 2 years later too. Might as well light your money on fire.nnFirst edit: Listen if you make less than 150k a year don’t be dumb enough to shop your daily grocery higher. Price gouging is crazy. Selling $2 milk for $6.5, tomatoes for $11 a kg. These prices are 3x of normal prices. Do your basic shopping somewhere else and save your money.nnOther than that I find a couple of items at provigo that I don’t find at other places so 2 more stars for that.
Decent grocery store with competitive pricing and good stock levels on flyer sale items most times . Staff is friendly for the most part. I have two issues either the store, the entrance where the carts are kept ALWAYS smells like a homeless shelter, I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the two old men who are always sitting on a bench just inside the doors or it’s a combination of wet mats and such, but the smell is enough to turn your stomach at times. Second issue is they usually only have on cashier working and she’s handling every l thing from ringing through people’s orders to lottery to doing returns. Lots of self checkouts but they do not take cash so the line to checkout is always very long. Other than those reasons a great place to shop in the plateau area.
Was worried about parking, until I saw their sign for indoor underground parking. Plus elevator and you can bring the baskets to your car.nGreat selection of products too.
A good variety of products and quality, PC food and products are always really good and if you look closely cheaper or same price as other grocery brands while being premium quality. The only issue I’ve found is the lack of a hot food/olive bar/pizza section that they used to have when it was a Provigo. The food was good. This store is quite clean as well and staff are pleasant. I like shopping here.
Loblaws is a price gouging juggernaut and automatically deserves a few stars knocked off by default. This Maxi isn't too bad however--good variety, prices that are the best of the worst IGA, Metro, Provigo but not more, and that's just for No Name products. Employees can often be dismissive and rude, but that seems to be a the default in chain stores downtown. Tolerable overall, wouldn't hesitate to do all my shopping at Segal's or elsewhere if it had the items I need.
