If I wrote this review last week, I would have given it 5 stars. The staff were friendly and it was a great place to stay while I waited for my baby to be born. However, when I was in the hospital, my husband packed my stuff and checked me out of Hickel House. He forgot to check the dresser drawers and a bunch of my clothes were accidentally left behind. Since I took clothes to the hospital I didn't discover this for 4-5 days. They never called me about it and when I called they claimed their "policy" was to donate anything left behind unless the owners called them. Fortunately I was able to get my stuff, but this is terrible customer service on their part. Hotel policies always keep stuff for 30 days and try to contact the owners. The fact that everyone staying here is either going to the hospital or has someone in the hospital means that their minds are preoccupied. I wonder how many people have "donated" items because they didn't realize they had left them and the staff at Hickel House were too lazy to pick up a phone and call?
