If I could give minus ten i would for this emergency department. We were there 8 and a half hours before I could see a doctor and didn't even get a room we were in the hallway for all to hear my health information. There are very few that care about 90% are rude and heartless toward patients. What happened????? They used to be great. Must be the new owners cut back staff too much. Emergency reception said they're working at 20% staff. How hell could you make that choice Kristy Carrington CEO of providence??? How do you sleep at night with blood on your hands?? The wait was so long people left for another hospital or went home to die. Find another hospital if you want a chance to live. Good luck people.
I have been to this hospital twice in the last 5 months and both of my experiences were exceptional. The care I received was top notch. EVERY nurse and doctor I came in contact with was warm, helpful, and cheerful. These people do not get enough credit or pay for the jobs they do. I think as a whole many people don't understand the amount of pressure they're under. The food was really good and even the people who delivered the food had great attitudes and a smile. I can't say enough good things.
My husband's mother was admitted on 11/2. The hospital called his siblings and told them #1 she wasn't going to last much longer and #2 we all needed to be there the next day to discuss the next steps in her care. We drove from Idaho the next morning to see her one last time and say goodbyes but were denied entry because their policy was a maximum of 2 visitors PER DAY and there were already visitors in her room. After explaining her health status and what the doctor said the day before, they told us no exceptions and refused us entry again. Unfortunately, this was the LAST day she was cognizant. The next day, they allowed an exception of 2 visitors at a time because she was switched to comfort care, but she was asleep the entire time. We visited the following day and she never opened her eyes. We believe she may have realized we were there because she would occasionally respond to us, but we were never able to have an actual conversation with her. It was exactly what my husband did not want his last memories of her to be. Later that night, she passed away. I know the staff at the checkout counter were just following orders. But the doctors and nurses could've given the green light for an exception. And I'm beyond angry that this is even a hospital policy to begin with. Its completely heartless. They knew her time was limited so is this really about preventing her from catching COVID?! Unfortunately, this is the only hospital in Everett so people don't have any other choice. I'm just thankful I do not live anywhere close.
Came in an ambulance from Whidbey Island for heart attack symptoms. Never been in a hospital for an emergency. We are having a PANDEMIC and I feel I had excellent care. I live where the doctors are SKETCHY and the local hospital is severely understaffed. I will wait! Was happy to leave the same day. Very thorough testing. Very good care.
This place is unbelievable. They have repeatedly lost my father’s DNR paperwork and every time the nurses change shifts we have to re-educate a new team about my father’s medications and end of life wishes. My father was here in 2013 and it was great. Now, it’s horrible. On top of everything, many of the staff are incredibly disrespectful of patients. I’m afraid to leave my father alone here at night. There is a sign in every room inviting families to participate in nurse bedside reports. We asked to participate and were completely ignored.
Primary physician sent me to ER for heart attack and stroke symptoms. I live just blocks away but always go to Swedish Capitol Hill Seattle but time frame was critical. Reading the negative reviews made me hesitant but now couldn't be more pleased! Polite, efficient, caring, attentive from admitting/triage to ECG, Dr, lab, CT, MRI. Yes I've been here hours, but for the number of tests I'm having and attention I've needed I couldn't be more pleased. Staff constantly updating on number of patients waiting for tests before me.
Great nursing staff sadly to say I've been in an area where there are no showers or toilets. The systems are breaking down. I realize this because of overflowing of patients. I have been here six days with a terminal diagnosis. It's a very rare disease and the Doctor's and staff are not informed. I have begged them to call my Neurologist but have had ZERO cooperation. I was raised here and love Providence. I am SO DISAPPOINTED.
Had a great experience here having surgery. From the nurses, to surgeon, and anesthesiologists, everyone was fantastic and made me feel well taken care of. In my doped up state I can't remember everyone's name but the ones I do were Jami, Joseph, Jen, and Dr. Knapp. I had a very pleasant experience
Worst triage, organization, staffing in the history of modern medicine. Came in at 1:40 pm. It is now 12:50 a.m. I was triaged immediately. I had blood drawn 3x. The third because the blood clotted before the lab could run the tests. Now has been almost 3 hours since CT was completed. Just sitting here waiting for a doctor to come talk to me for a few minutes to determine if I will be admitted or if I can go home. Unbelievable.
This is the worst hospital I've ever been in. I'm a cancer patient & was to be admitted for blood transfusion. Two security guards and nurse came to my room I was told they were going to search me. And if I didn't allow it then I had to leave. I was never out of line never raised my voice. I was not letting them violate me like that I left. That was One bad experience. There were several more. I'm a cancer patient not a criminal
