We are a team of healthcare professionals, working collaboratively with family physicians to improve primary care for our patients.

Story

The Sherwood Park PCN was established in 2007 to help physicians take better care of patients. We are a joint venture between family physicians in Sherwood Park and Alberta Health services. Over 70 family physicians are members of the PCN in over 20 clinics

We offer programs that assist family physicians in helping patients with:
• Chronic Disease Management
• Mental Health

We also offer a variety of free classes open to the public that cover nutrition, mental health and exercise. Visit our website to view a full calendar of upcoming classes.

I was referred by my doctor to a female psychiatrist here twice I don't remember her name so female is the most detail I can provide. The first time I was referred to her she asked me questions about my life and basically told me that because I had a job, a relationship and a child "I didn't appear to be struggling enough" to warrant further assessment or treatment. The second time two years later I was referred to her by my family doctor was during a mental health crisis. The referral was specifically for assessment and treatment recommendations. When I got into the appointment I was seen by a social worker and not the psychiatrist. I asked why I was not seeing the psychiatrist as I was there for assessment and treatment recommendations. She told me that the psychiatrist wouldn't see me and that I would have to consult with my family doctor. I told her I had gotten the referral in the first place because my family doctor didn't feel he had the expertise in that area and it was the entire point of me coming there. She told me that the psychiatrist felt that I "was struggling too much with my mental health" for assessment and treatment to be a good option at the time and to see my family doctor who, I stress again, was the one who referred me to her! for further support. I ended up contacting Access 24/7 in Edmonton and they thankfully actually listened to me, took me seriously, gave me a referral to a psychiatrist who actually cares about people for assessment and diagnoses, then set me up with actual supports for treatment. Please, if you are struggling with your mental health, contact them and do not worsen your situation by being brushed off by this doctor who I can assume is only in it for the money.
Handicap parking and button to open door. Elevator up to 2nd floor as well as stairwell and it's all PCN. Large waiting area, large bathroom and many rooms. I saw a dietitian and she was wonderful. Next time I get to see her and a pharmacist. Great experience.
Great. Detailed and easy to use.
Don’t deal with this place, the only people working here are there for themselves not their patients. You will be treated horribly and without any respect.
