Came for dinner because of the recommendations and we love south Asian food. The corn ribs was my favourite, however it was a bit on the salty end. The OG chicken wings was perfectly crispy and flavourful. The popcorn salted egg yolk chicken was delightful light even though it’s deep fried. The worst dish for me was the basil beef I took few bites and the sodium content hit me hard. If it wasn’t for the rice and drinks I don’t think we can finish it. Service was fantastic and the decor/ambience was so much fun.
Been here several times now and each time this place does not disappoint. Flavours are great and portions are generous. I loved the roti, ordered lots of it. The dip was great. I recommend this. Also had the deep fried pork hock, very meaty, delicious. The other dishes are pretty standard but also very tasty, pad Thai, beef and noodles, etc. Can’t beat the value and quality. We tried their $38 brunch menu, what a deal! It includes a drink, 3 appetizers and a main. They were all delicious. We especially loved their fish sauce caramel chicken wings, boat noodles and the salted egg yolk popcorn chicken with torn milk bread, sitting in a delicious salted ube coconut syrup. The waiter was super friendly and approachable. Would definitely come back again!
They were only serving the dine out festival menu when we went. The regular menu items could be ordered for pick up. I quickly understood why after being served the food. They are skimping you on the appetizer and drinks. For $30 you get chocolate milk and 4 wings plus a main. If you order off the regular menus you save about $6 bucks at best and get the full portion appie. The mains were mediocre for the price. Everything it’s designed to look nice. If you like to pay for things that look nice above all else you will like this place. Service was top notch they have great staff.
Very tasty, but also very salty. Even as someone under the age of 30, I'd come back again but I'd definitely ask for less salt next time. Food was incredibly flavourful, and I absolutely recommend that anyone eating here try the Brussels sprouts.
Great spot to grab some solid southeast Asian food. Friendly staff, comfortable seating and nice ambience. The laksa is the best I’ve had in Vancouver. Add the coconut milk fried chicken leg it’s worth it! Will come back again!Recommended dishesRoti Canai, Mama Cheung’S Laksa
Stopped by to try their dineout lunch, excited for the opportunity to try a wide range of dishes! Loved the colourful decor, but the food itself was rather disappointing. The chicken rendang was dry and not particularly tender and quite unlike any other rendang we'd tried before, with the bulk of the coconut flavour coming from the rice. The egg roti canai was quite good but the curry was, horrifyingly, HK-style yellow curry rather than any sort of southeast asian curry. The pork chop sando came with nice soft well-buttered bread, but the meat itself was rather bland. The kaya that came with the french toast was thin and watery and didn't hold up against the heaviness of the french toast. The horlicks panna cotta itself was tasty, but for some reason came with spoonfuls of some sort of lemon curd, which made for a bit of an unexpected flavour combination.
This was my very first visit and the only saving grace of the experience, was the service. If not for the great service, I would not even consider leaving any stars. Unfortunately, I came for the food and not the service. Not going to lie, after hearing and seeing so many great reviews of potluck hawkers, my expectations were set a bit higher. Sadly, none of them were met to say the least. The first appetizer, the laksa chow felt very rushed as the vegetables were still very raw. Biting into hard, raw vegetables in a soup was not as pleasant as one would think. The chicken rendang in the entree was tastless, like the marinade was short and had not set into the meat yet. The prawn crackers that was provided with the chicken rendang dish was very stale, probably a few days old as we complained and they brought us new sets of prawn crackers and the color and taste was absolutely day and night. I have to say though, the French toast dessert was probably the best thing we had from our meal. Regrettable experience to say the least.
The world needs more South East Asian flavours! The papaya salad isn't afraid to be spicy and its unique spin or at least to me is the salted duck egg. Laksa was great, I just wanted more! Decor is cute and casual with many Asian food staples lining the walls.
Great service, awesome food and nice vibes - would definitely come back! We ordered the pad Thai, chicken nasi and Brussels sprout to try. They were all amazing and have lots of flavour. The Brussels sprouts really surprised me with lots of flavour and texture. The place is small but I think they take reservations. It’s a great little Asian fusion joint. Will recommend to anyone who’s looking for a culinary experience.
