Portofino Bay Restaurant

Prettiest spot on the lake. Great bar both inside and out. Sand beach for kids to play on, pool, great docking for boats. Our meal was wonderful. We had fish fry, great service, great food. This place has struggled with food service in the past but they have it figured out now so don't let the negative reviews scare you.

The view and outdoor seating was amazing...and the restaurant very nicely decorated inside. We were the only 3 customers in the entire restaurant, at 7:30. There were 3 servers in view and it took forever for us to get a server and we waited even longer for the drinks. We were the only people in there! Food came out relatively fast and was good. Drink refills during dinner were ridiculously slow again😠. I'd hate to be here if there were TWO tables to wait on AT ONCE!!

If I could rate this with NO STARS, I would. I would never recommend this place to anyone. We rented a boat that broke down and left us stranded for nearly two hours (without a canopy). After repeated calls to the dock, we finally enlisted a very nice person to tow us in. With no other options in the area, we were not able to get out on the water for the day. This is an annual trip we take and the highlight of the day is to be out on the water. The manager apologized-we obviously got our money back, but to make it right he also gave us some free appetizers and another boat rental for the next year (I CLEARLY stated we would NOT be using it for the rest of the season, since it was the second weekend in August and we are not from the area). When we were finally able to get in touch with the facility, the owner stated that the manager he placed in charge never had the authority to give us a free rental and if he had it would have been for use that season. The owner obviously doesn't know how to run a business or have any idea what good customer service is. The boats are old and junky. The appetizers we got were greasy. We will never return to this facility or ever recommend this to anyone else.

Service was extremely slow. 15 minutes before a server acknowledged our presence. Only 4th table in place. Took a long time to get food, which was expensive for what you got. Appetizers delivered without plates. Server told us there wasn't bread, but hostess was able to give 4 other tables bread. We were told they were out of mashed potatoes, but we could get baked potatoes. Couldn't those have been mashed? Won't be returning.

We had a waiter, the only man serving, that was attentive, friendly, quick to refill drinks, my wife and I thought he was probably the best waiter we've ever had. The food was excellent, and fair priced, the view is fantastic. Their dock is the best dock of any restaurant on the lake.
